Black Memory

A distant sound is mourning from a tower
The light is dim upon the hour

New day
Sad day

No candle light for this journey
Footsteps made no more

Hidden Agenda

There's a part of me
Spoiler

Hidden somewhere
amongst the clutter here and there
Kept me from reaching
and always searching
A
Spoiler
for my heart's eyes

Not so much a "spoiler", as it was an artistic exercise in causing the reader to think and to highlight the blacked-out areas so as to involve the reader more.

To think it's been almost two years since this thread of mine has even seen the light of day, yet here I am, clearing the dust (and coughing on command). So much has happened since I was a regular Pen to this page, so allow the words that follow to be a glimpse of what has befallen me.

A Novel Transgression

Like a chance not given
Unmoved pages like love unrealized
Every word unseen
An evening never lived

For every smile
twist the knife
Every glance
scrape a scar
and every word
wipe a tear

At once
nothing
For nothing
is everything

We haven't spoken for a while but I have quite a good idea of what happened via your FB statuses. I've been in a similarily fucked up and painful relationship situation myself this year, so I can definately see where you are coming from with this, especially the first verse.

I believe Facebook has been the reason I haven't written much in here for so long. Though to be completely honest, I haven't really had the will, or the desire to scratch something in this thread. Call it a dry spell or a dormancy period, but every time I attempted to formulate the English language into something I would be proud to say I authored, I froze. The above piece is a combination of two or three excerpts of mine, with a few lines having been part of my status at one point. Hardly what I would consider a "coming back" moment, but at least this thread has not been forgotten or lost to antiquity.

Funnily enough this year I actually wrote quite alot of poetry myself, I doubt it will ever see the light of day though. I don't like to think of myself as vulnerable and they represent the most vulnerable time in my life.

I suppose if anyone is intrigued I may PM it or something.

Poetry is one of the most enlightened things a man can do. It requires both perfect understanding of your feelings and connecting those with something extraordinary and beautiful. And useful - it purges you of negative tension, and helps it not to turn into something worse.

So yes, you can send it over. Don't worry, I won't ridicule you D8

I wouldn't have called anything I wrote beautiful, it captures my mood well, but my mood was not a good one.

I'll send you a PM then, it's not just poetry either. It's got other stuff in as well.

Oh and sorry for hijacking your thread nuker.

It's not a big issue Ion, but if something like it arises again, please take it over MSN, Steam, or the forum's PM system. Thanks.

In other news I have another work to display.

The Knife, Repurposed

Walk swiftly towards the abyss
The frailty you call hope
The faltering balance you call life
A bitter nothing to have and hold
Moving forward hurts more than standing still

Despair unravels your dreams
Pulls apart your seams
Leaves your visions broken and unseen
Anonymity your greatest foe (and our best friend)

......everything goes too far

Porcelain

When you closed your eyes and felt the sweet pain of ecstacy
Did you clench your fist and feel all you held dear, slip away?
Did you feel hollowness enter and whisper sweet nothings in your ear?
Bear witness to your values screaming in the night, as pen to paper swiftly writes?
Echo through forever, the drumming agony

Was it worth it in the end?
To bed your dreams that day?
You think you had it covered then
But you were on display
Failed attempts and a future rushed
Silent lips, a mouth borne hushed
Regret the string and die again
Your eyes will never see quite the same
