Wow, so EA has done it. In their battlecast primetime they announced an expansion to ship out early 2008. "Kane's Wraith".

It has a campaign surrounding his rise to power, begining after the second tiberium war to after the third tiberium war.

Hmm... Im betting they are gonna clear up inconsistence in this expansion, since it starts after second tiberium war.

Im still watching the darn thing but ill post updates soon smile.gif

EDIT:
>> HMM seems EA took a note from Petroglyph... They are having a global mode to the game, where you can move armies around the world and when they collide combat begins.

>> Each side will have a sub faction... Cabal maybe?

>> 2 dozen new multiplayer maps

>> X-Box 360 will release when PC game releases, will feature new radio interface as seen in leaked screen shot.

Hell yes!

Can you say awesome?

Oh and I swear one unit they showed in the concept art was a Cyborg Commando.

Don't get me wrong, it was good. It was just so short-lived.
You could basically experience the entire game in about a week.

Maybe this Expansion will add something new to the mix.

Well from the sounds of it they're doing the generals type thing with the 2 subfactions. AND it sounds like they're open to suggestions as to what will be put in.

One unit definately looked like a sonic resonator mounted to a tank of some variety, I'll bet this is a disruptor incarnate.

The games' campaigns took me longer to finish than some other RTS games I've played (including some of the earlier C&C series). Of course you can't compare it to an FPS or something.

Still waiting for the ~400-600 MB to download heh.

Great news!
I would love to see the new global war option, i hope it would be vast and not around the 15 important regions in this world...
Would be interesting mix to see Total War style game play combined with CNC.

Nevertheless, i would be happy when i will see Red Alert 3 announced!
In the mean time, i score 5/5 for EA.

I'd be happy to see them make another game with similar gameplay to CnC Generals, create a new universe or something perhaps, I wouldn't care :/

/me is sick of sequels..

I don't like Generals gameplay much myself heh, I muchly prefer the gameplay of the earlier C&Cs. But we're all entitled to our own opinion.

On another note, Joe Kucan is great in this :/. He's very funny.

We all knew an expansion was coming. I just hope the expansion lasts longer then the game

Fuck yeah, finally. I like to see this being a kind of prequel to TW and some of the concepts look quite cool.
Can't wait to see more of this. And CCTV doesn't look too bad either, I expected it to be worse.

Let's hope that it will have a awesome gameplay.
I will give it a test, but if this doesnt make things better, its bye bye C&C3 for me.

NEW GDI SUBFACTIONS - Michael Alexander, general of the GDI Marines, who prefers to build heavy base defences and strike with superweapons; Alfred Granger, who prefers to use specially-modified King Orcas to bring his enemies to ruin; and general Tao Huhn Kwo, who uses mass-produced nuclear-powered heavy tanks to destroy the Nod terrorists.

NEW NOD SUBFACTIONS - Dr. Smallpox, whose favourite pastime is infecting GDI soldiers with diseases and toxins; Rodall Jenkins, who likes to send his units into the enemy base and then blow them up; and finally, General Deathhit, who prefers to use old salvaged combat vehicles like Rhino Heavy Tanks, V3 Launchers and Apocalypse Tanks to destroy GDI.

:/

Now thats what i call kick ass news. 10 bucks says they will reintroduce the Titan. I also hope the get some real heroes this time around instead of the crappy units that they called Hero in CnC3.

Just don't put too much hope or you'll end up being disappointed. C&C 3 was such an anti-climax for me.

You need 10-14k worth of units before you can inflict any damage at all. If you've six tanks firing on a building it takes them a long time to kill it and less time for your opponent to counter or plop a defense on top of you. Where's the strategy?

There is next to no micromanagement in the game at all.

The entire game needs to be rebalanced before I'll call it an RTS. I don't have much faith in this expansion, either.

Finally the expansion we've been wanting for and the story for it sounds interesting.

I'm waiting for somebody to Photoshop Kane behind a GDI Wraith Tank with Nod symbols on it loudly declaring "Kane's Wraith."

But why would they bring back the Titan? It's already been discontinued, as per GDI InOps briefs.

I still, however, want to see at least one mission where you can use the Mammoth MkII by hijacking it with an egineer. The monster practically begs to be in full 3D.

Rayburn's Photo Rayburn 14 Aug 2007

They'd bring it back because this game seems to be set BETWEEN TS and TW, meaning it'll be set in a time when mechs haven't been decommissioned yet.

Well, hope this either makes me play it more, or brings more modders to the scene. I think I've owned the game for months and played it no more than an hour in total.

I also sure hope their only expansion, it would sure screw up The Hunter's CnC 3 mod if in the middile of modding it he discovers another CnC 3 expansion was announced. That would sort of suk, but look at how many BF2 expansions there are, they might do it again.

But one thing's for sure: Horray for sub-factions and inflated gameplay! (hope it doesn't suk as much as ZH's did).

Although SW .95 is prolly gonna take up most of my time along with Desert Combat and Forgotten Hope for BF 1942. There are mods that never cease to be entertaining.
