An expansion's always good. But it's like "Why didn't you do this in the first place, it would of been 6 times the game it was now if you'd thought of all this stuff like a few months ago?"

Chah Ching $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

It would suck if they released like 5 XPACs to CnC3 that would alone drive me into a murderous rampage.

Those NOD threaded trucks really spiked my interest. SubT Apcs maybe?

They're halftracks, and I don't see anything they could use to dig. My guess is they're just APCs, or maybe mount hidden weapons that pop up from the hull when firing, for added protection when moving.

From the concepts, the new NoD APC half track has some sort of deploy ability which might make it some sort of defence or just something like an Emissary.

In the Screenshots posted, I see some Cyborgs and what looks like a GDI Hovering Quad Cannon.
Actually that looks like a new sub faction all together. It uses Cyborgs alot along with those new APC's.

The "quad cannon" is also seen on the radial dial interface in the X-Box 360 test screen.

Looks like GDI's answer to PAC and Devastator Warship spam.

I wonder why GDI has those helicopters?

NEW GDI SUBFACTIONS - Michael Alexander, general of the GDI Marines, who prefers to build heavy base defences and strike with superweapons; Alfred Granger, who prefers to use specially-modified King Orcas to bring his enemies to ruin; and general Tao Huhn Kwo, who uses mass-produced nuclear-powered heavy tanks to destroy the Nod terrorists.

NEW NOD SUBFACTIONS - Dr. Smallpox, whose favourite pastime is infecting GDI soldiers with diseases and toxins; Rodall Jenkins, who likes to send his units into the enemy base and then blow them up; and finally, General Deathhit, who prefers to use old salvaged combat vehicles like Rhino Heavy Tanks, V3 Launchers and Apocalypse Tanks to destroy GDI.

;)

;)
btw i can't open the pages D:
can someone post the pics please :D

As POTP already pointed out: http://www.gamespot....;om_clk=topslot

Direct quote:
"Each subfaction favors unique strategies and styles of play. It's also worth noting that we've answered the call of many fans to bring back hover technology to GDI and cyborgs to Nod."

WOOOOOT!

RETURN OF THE CYBORGS!

I hope they make a subfaction called cabal and make him have the cyborg commando that was as 1337 as he used to be.

RaiDK's Photo RaiDK 16 Aug 2007

Hells yes!

I'm calling it now: The return of subterranean tech for Nod, as well as walkers for GDI.

The expansion pack for CnC3 just got announced, and supposedly the three factions each have 'subfactions'. Everyone is assuming that it will be an awesome unit addon pack like Zero Hour was, but i just wanted to know your thoughts.

yes this is a random topic, thought i could move everyone away from thinking about .95 as much.

Do you people think that a Zero Hour esque expansion will be successful and fun? Or is it only good the first time?

Oh, and why am i a minigunner? What the heck do these names mean? Mine doesn't make any sense lol.

its logical, after all the last cabal bunker was destroyed in the begining of the 3ยบ tiberium war, if this has part before tiberium wars i assume caball will be one of the new subfactions(because i cant see normal Nod with ciborgs after cabal :D)

Two topics merged.

@ howard.nogg

I believe you can change your custom name after a certain number of posts, you do not have the sufficient number yet.

World-warfare?

*sigh* I've *never* seen this implemented in combination with a decent storyline.

I initially saw it in Emperor Battle for Dune, which was an excuse to write 5-6 missions per side and have the rest just repeat as random skirmishes.

I saw it in DOW Dark Crusade, and once again, despite coming from such a rich history of table-top gaming, the story just clunked.

While I can appreciate the demand for players to feel like "they are influencing events in the game", the more power you give to the player, the less ability you have to control the plot effectively.

Yeah, I'm being cynical about it, but it really is one or the other. Hopefully EA will make the right choice,,,

Cheesus, ShockWave 2? I wanna better test dat!!111one

Okay, I'll admit, I'm starting to get a little excited now that EA is planning subfactions - adding diversity - and bringing back some of the old skool toys, but I won't allow myself to make the same mistake twice and be carried away by the hype.

Well, it may not be original but RoN:T&P had some historical campaigns, including Alexander the Great, Napoleon and the Cold War. (z0mg n00ks :D)

If the campaign goes from TS straight through CNC3, what units might we be using?
Old tech in early campaigns, then new tech in later campaigns? What will we be using in skirmish?
Hmmm...

Razven's Photo Razven 17 Aug 2007

I'm still putting my money that whatever "scrapped weapons" you saw in CNC3, like the Mammoth Mk.II and the Titan is going to make a come back of some sort...
