New DoW expansion coming?

Sgt. Nuker's Photo Sgt. Nuker 26 Nov 2007

I'm sure with the new expansion pack there'll be an influx of new sayings and quotable quotes :P . I can't wait to hear what the Dark Eldar have to say  .

New speeches for everyone :P  :P...(at least i hope so).
But if new units are added apart from the aircfraft-i mean ground units then for sure we will hear new speeches.
But i wouldnt mind hearing some cool replacement of old ones like for spoting the enemy.
And last thing i am sure commanders voices will be changed again.<<Thats what i am nearly 100% sure that they will screw up cause in DC only Chaos Lord voice sounds better.Eldar"s Farseer has worse voice,SM"s Force Commander has a worse voice(just like someone "s running after him with a big knife and threatening to kil him if he doesnt say what he must say as quick as possible :read: ).
I remeber that in DC Ork"s Nobz have changed voice(which is worse than the previous one from WA but mods fix this as well :read: ).
I hope they dont srew up these once again< :) .

Yeah, that's what I meant. Not only new speeches, but individual speeches for the new races when spotted. Right now it's just like "Enemy spotted" when Tau/Necrons/Imperial are make their move. :P

What balance changes must be made in your opinion guys in Soulstorm. We can discuss that on short here as well.At least in my opinion :P .
What changes for each race(on short only).

A lil bit more durable Guardsmen....atm they look like cannon fodder without any cool upgrades (even the Cultists have cooler stuff)

Make the Tau melee units a bit more effective....

I'd like to see heavy weaponteams as squad upgrade and maybe snipers and veterans for IG

oh and in my opinion they realy have to redo the HWT it looks crapy for now that single man walking around with that HUGE bolter on his back and then cloning himselve to use it. That is realy beneath the dignity of DOW.

bah the thing that makes DoW great is its realism and unrealism (i mean as in a great mix)

I mean you got the accuracy system and morale but how the weapons deal damage is a bit unreallistic yet this makes great battles

why do they always show the IG as the "weaklings that get overrun"?!

btw those turrets on the last pic and the structures dont look like something that the IG would have and they are defending it....SoB perhaps?

I think it's safe to say that all of the screenshots they put out are from the campaign of whatever army they're showcasing.

So, according to these new screenshots, why won't the tyranids be able to be put it? :D

Sgt. Nuker's Photo Sgt. Nuker 02 Dec 2007

According to Relic, the 'nids won't be represented properly by the current engine (even though this game engine is lightyears better than SAGE :D ).

Well, I'm just wondering, because when looking at the new screenshots, those dark eldar beasts look quite okay to me, despite the fact they are 100% "biological" (meaning: without any armor and with some mutations), thus they could easily put in the 'nids as well.

thats not the issue....Tyranids are supposed to be some kind of mutated lizards and they mostly roll around or dig themselves underground etc...

and also even though the engine in DoW is better then SAGE it is way older than SAGE.....afaik you couldnt have flyin units in the engine until now when they are modifying it

Hmm, I see the problem now. :D

Sgt. Nuker's Photo Sgt. Nuker 02 Dec 2007

Tyranids aren't mutated lizards. I wouldn't believe that, unless it's in the lore somewhere. Supposedly they were created by the gods opposed to the C'tan, along with the Orks. However, the 'Nids couldn't be controlled and grew so powerful that they started to spread elsewhere. I'm thinking they're super mutated insects, though some of their limbs suggest they could be reptiles of some kind...even if it is a remote chance. The Tyranids also move a bit differently than those warp beasts. Some slither, and some hover. While the hovering isn't the problem, I don't think anything slithers in this game, save for the occasional tail motion from the Wraiths.

Genetically modified by who? I am not into the Wh40k lore that much to know? :dope:

Perhaps this might be little bit help about Tyranids.
Tyranids

Arcording Relic's interviwe video(If I remember corretly...), Tyranis will come later game. Colud be DOW2, another
expantion pack or some new game about Warhammer 40K. And some reasons, Relic don't want add Tyranid this 3rd expantion pack.

1.Need improve sage engine.
2.Balance problems in this game.

That's all I know.

If I remember correctly and I read it right, the gods known as "The Old Ones" created the Tyranids.

More information can be found here, in the account and history of the C'tan.

One small note. Lizards don't live in colonies or groups known as "hives", nor do they have a being called a "Hive Mind". I still stand on the principle that the Tyranids are mutated insect-like creatures.

Well for me Tyranids resemble The Zerg from Starcraft(i am not a big fan of the gam though its just still VERY popular in Bulgaria :P ).Its all the same to me-buggs and more buggs flyin buggs digging buggs hmm o ya hero bugs and so on.Its just a bugg you know you cant say its totaly different.
Just like Necrons are just robots like the tau drones or the sm skull probes.
