I keep hearing that Firefox is a completely superior browser compared to IE. Some people are extremely zealous about it, too. Unfortunately, nobody seems to be able to tell me why exactly, other than that "it's not made by microsoft". So, can anybody here shed any light on why it's so much better?

it actually requires more (at least for me it does)

but the advantages balance that out; you can customise pretty much every aspect of it (skins/themes, toolbars, plugins, extensions, etc.) and the most important thing much safer than IE (in the fact is blocks pop-ups as well as unautorised downloads)

EDIT: here's a small list of some of the stuff you could be using ;0

Extensions are the selling point. I can get torrents, download managers, sweet looking themes, an Australian dictionary and heaps of other useful things, all from within Firefox, all Spyware/Adware/Malware free.

I find it faster and more customisable, the bookmarks toolbar saves me hours during a week, and it password manager allows logging into low security things (which I dont mind being saved) a lot quicker.

On a related note, perhaps y'all could explain something for me. I've heard that on sites that are built for it, Firefox has a menu to change the style sheet in use. I haven't been able to find such a menu or option, could anyone shed some light on this?

Actually, I found what I was looking for, and it was staring me in the face the whole time. Going to View>>Page Style gives me the choices I'm looking for. Thanks, though!

Less confusing and cluttered than IE’s Internet Options is another factor in Mozilla’s Firefox. You can easily navigate through each setting. Deleting saved passwords is a snap and clearing any saved history. The “Downloads” section of the options allows the user to choose which program will automatically open a downloaded file.
