I was actually also thinking about creating a Call of Duty 4 Topic ...
Played it through and im playing Multiplayer right now.
At the moment my Rank is Second Lieutenant I. This is a Hell of a Game and I would realy appretiate it if I could play with some of the People from this Forum.
It takes alot these Days to impress me, but this Game sure as hell did.
This is a MUST for all FPS Fans. Im so glad the Developer's finally noticed that there are way too much WWII Games.
They made a great Step by using the Modern Warfare Style.
I just hate War Games wich take place in the past and in the too far Future. There are rare Exceptions.

It's great to see that CoD successfully made the transition from WW2 to modern combat and you can actually see how war has changed in the past decades (High tech weaponry, constant contact with HQ, squad-based combat instead of huge onslaughts, close air-support, WMDs, terrorism)
Singleplayer is as short as it is awesome, especially the ending was really cinematic and that mini-mission after the credits is a nice gimmick
MP kicks major arse. Advancing through the ranks and unlocking secrets is much easier than in BF2.
I think I'm a 2nd LT II at the moment. The name is MDW and I usually play on the 22ndSAS Server (85.236.101.14:29260)
The only downside of MP I can currently think of: The maps are very small compared to the older games, so playing on servers with up to 28 people is more messy than entertaining. You can't avoid eachother which isn't necessarily good and if there were bigger maps, sniping would also feel less like AWP-whoring in CS.

I've played it, I love it.
The prologue missions are great too. You really need to play those. Intense and really well-made. Except of course the fact that a helicopter hovering over the enemies doesn't seem to set them off. If you've played the SAS freighter mission you'll know what I mean.
Anyway, the way each mission plays out, it is never boring and even though there are a large number of firefights that are just sit, point, shoot, it's always intense and you just don't get bored of it.
Also, with that spoiler EVE posted, it's not really a spoiler considering it is in the trailer AND the intro vid.
MP is great, I suck, but unlike most other FPS MPs, it plays out online like it does in the SP. The way people play is similar to how things look in SP with the AI. Except they are better shots.
Love the game.
P.S. Knifing looks so real!!!!

I know, it's your clan. Tell the chaps that they're doing a good job. The players on that server are really mature and professional. A very enjoyable and - most importantly - fair game. I haven't seen any bunny hopping noobs there.

MY GODDAM COD4 SAID IT COULDN'T OPEN MY STATS AND IT DELETED IT.
It's hard to say what I feel now. I will march right out of the house, and slaughter everyone.
EDIT: bless creativity, fixed it.

Its a MUST HAVE but not everyone is in a situation in which you can even run the game even.So whether its great or not it requires a new PC

PS-Commando FTW!

BTW:
To those who play this in MP, try to use a silenced M16 or a G3 with a red-dot-sight.
These guns are decently accurate for sniping and their damage is beastly.
Easy kills, it's almost criminal...and with woodland-camo, they look positively badass

Assault Rifles:
M16 - It fires bursts of 3 rounds, pretty accurate at all ranges and has good stopping power. I use it a lot with a silencer and it looks badass in green
AK47 - This one is fully automatic but less accurate than the M16. I don't use it much, but if you don't like firing bursts, it's an alternative for short ranges
M4 - Also fully automatic but much weaker than the M16. Probably good at short range like the AK, but I didn't use it a lot so I can't really judge
G3 - It's only semi-auto but enormously accurate and powerful. Makes a good marksmanship-rifle with a red-dot-sight which can compete with snipers
G36 - I just unlocked it but it feels like an SMG with increased range and firepower
M14 - Another Semi-auto. I Haven't got it yet but I guess it can be used for short range sniping if you attach a scope
MP44 - Yes, an MP44. Judging by the few occasions I had one, it was pretty unspectacular. Bad accuracy and firing rate, but a nice novelty-gun I suppose
SMGs:
MP5 - Pretty awesome actually. Good firing rate and power and accurate at short to medium distances. Looks badass with woodland camouflage
Scorpion - Fires incredibly fast, little recoil and stopping power, but the speed makes up for this. Bad ironsights but a red-dot-scope makes it a fleshcutter
Mini-Uzi - Didn't use it much but if feels kinda cool. It's an Uzi after all, so it does have that badass feeling to it.
AK74U - Bin Laden's choice. It fires fast and feels more like a light assault rifle. Stats say it has some good stopping power too
P90 - Powerful, fast, accurate and comes with a huge magazine. A fleshcutter made by the devil himself. Almost overpowered.
LMGs:
SAW - Fires fast, sprays a lot. That's all
RPD - Fires fast, sprays even more but apparently packs more punch. Sounds quite crappy though
M60 - Makes you feel like Rambo or Schwarzenegger, especially with the double-shot-perk. Long reload and kinda inaccurate but the power is great
Shotties:
W1200 - A generic shotgun. Sucks arse at more than 3 metres and misses a lot
M4 - Not much better but it fires faster. A pumpgun without pumping but it also lacks the badassness of a real shotgun
Sniper Rifles:
M40 - Good accuracy and firepower but it looks very bland
M21 - Kind of like the sniper version of the M14. Takes a lot of getting used to but can be quite deadly with an ACOG-scope
SVD - Said to be slightly stronger than the M21 but that's about it
R700 - Slightly stronger but also less accurate than the M40 and it can only carry 4 rounds at once. I'm using it for a change from the M40
M82 - Didn't get the chance to use it often but it's heavy and sounds very badass. Good damage and surprisingly high firing rate
Pistols:
M9 - Good magazine size, decent as a last resort or to pick off unsuspecting enemies
USP - Less rounds than the M9 but the rest is about equal. It looks more high-tech though
Colt 1911 - Again, a small magazine but I guess some people just like this sort of thing
Desert Eagle - Greatest stopping power of course and a cool sound, but also lacking a larger clip and proper sights
