I bought this game last night but won't be playing it till Christmas. Something to look forward to and all that.

I'm finding it hard waiting. Posted Image

I pre-ordered the game and it just kicks ass!!

It became my favorite fps game. Its the first one to incorporate modern weapons very good and the story is just so awesome....i really did not excpect it to be so dramatic.

The bonus mission after the credits is also really cool. I beat it on veteran by just running through never stop and pick up the first P90 i can find. Headshot on the terrorist and tadaa!

I stopped playing mp lately but i'm going to start again, mainly because i want the M60 and some other guns like the golden desert eagle (whats the difference to the regular one anyway?)

I really hope they'll make an add on with a cool story too and some more weapons like the IMI Tavor TAR21.

I also hope for an addon realy badly WARthog.

I am five Star General now ( Or Commander ), and when you reach that rank you get the Golden Desert Eagle.
I didn't notice any difference, I think it just increases your Prestige you have on the Battlefield.
( Alot of Kiddies already asked me " Wow, where you got that Desert Eagle from? " )

Oh and, the Barret is just plain saweeeet!

I'm somewhere around Lt.Gen. now as I don't play as often anymore. Tested the .50 on a few occasions and the most remarkable features are the good rate of fire and the awesome sound. It's really powerful but it also misses every once in a while. Maybe I'm not used to it yet, but the M40 seems to be more accurate. Guess it'll take some time.

@ Warthog
Gladly, the M60 becomes available pretty early. I'm using no other machineguns. It's pretty cool looking, especially with the MARPAT camouflage, has a nice firing sound, good stats and - using Steady Aim and the frontgrip - quite accurate for close combat. Use the perk that increases the firing rate and cut through people like you mean it. The only thing you might have to get used to is the ironsights which are rather awful on this one. If you can't cope with it, you might want to lose the frontgrip in order to use the red dot sights.

Got the game and really love it. Amazing gameplay,

Multiplayer fails a bit though. Maps are way too small.

I just played a couple o rounds on it. It was fun and productive. I can say I'm in prestige mode too. A 41lvl character dissapeared, then a 55lvl, and now I'm 34. The 55 had nearly every challenge, and every expert 2. So I'm pissed. Going on the challenges made me so nervous...

I agree about the multiplayer though. Wouldn't say it fails as that is quite a harsh choice of words, but it definately lacks some bigger maps with open places.
The current maps are too small and make sniping feel like in Counterstrike on certain occasions.

That's exactly what I think aswell, and who knows maybe thats the Point where a possible Expansion could start off, at least that would be some kind of Idea, or?

It would make sense. They could tell us something about the mission-background like who the hostage is and build up a whole new storyline with that. If they don't make an expansion, we'll get a sequel anyway. I doubt that CoD6 (Rumour has it was CoD5 will be developed by that company that made CoD3) will be WW2 again. They'll probably stick to that modern warfare theme for atleast one more REAL game (I don't count in CoD3/5 as they aren't made by IW). Hopefully, there'll be jungle missions or one where you get to drive a tank, be the gunner of an Apache or something along those lines. CoD4 had too few vehicle missions for my liking...

Call of Duty 5 is not being developed by IW?
Well, thats Crap indeed. I was all getting into CoD now and hoped that more of CoD4's Kind would appear on the Market.

Well, maybe there is still hope for the Expansion Pack.

It seems to be more than just a rumour actually. CoD5 will be developed by Treyarch, the blokes who also made CoD3. That one wasn't too bad actually, I just have a bad impression of it as it couldn't impress me with the graphics because it was console-only and I got the Wii version which is the weakest from the technical standpoint. If they release this one on PC, it might be okay actually. I read that it might be set in WW2 but in the Pacific theatre which isn't as overused as the whole Normandy malarkey. Guess we'll have to wait and see, but I'll only buy this if it comes for PC.

Afterthought:
Other cool scenarios for an expansion might be what happened to Price and McMillan between their trip to Pripyat and the time in which the game is set. Maybe they could build up some kind of rivalry between Price and Zakhaev or something...Or a campaign in which you play one of the Russian loyalists led by Kamarov.

A Vietnam CoD would be nice.

What would be even nicer is the possibility to be able to see the same servers as your friends when you go online on CoD 4. Presently this system takes the piss. Every time you refresh the list you get new servers. Anyone else experiencing this?

But this is only since the last Patch, so I hope the new one will fix this Problem.

Also Rayburn the AK47 is way better than you made it sound in your post about all the availible weapons.

It can peirce walls and the distances you fire at on most (MP) maps aren't far away enough to affect the range and fire power by a degree where it becomes useless to shoot someone with a AK.

Well, it's been a while that I made that post, nowadays, I would say the AK is a decent gun BUT not the best IMO. Guess it all boils down to personal preference to some degree. I might try it as a close combat weapon for my marksman-kit though. Perhaps I'll get used to it...

@Stinger:
I'm not entirely sure, but I believe the music is made by Harry Gregson Williams, the bloke who also made the soundtrack to various movies as well as the Metal Gear Solid series. It is great music.

Well if you have it for the PC, you can easily extract it; just open iw_11.iwd with winrar -> sound -> music and voila, all the music files. :dope:
