I'm just curious whats your favorite one. Console, PC (including Mac, etc.), or both?
Because strategy/3d shooters are my favorite genre and I love to play with mouse+keyboard, I voted PC and next gen PC.

Here are some pro/cons to think about.

Consoles

Pro:
- they are cheap when set in perspective to a modern Pc
- games always run (no troubleshooting)
- games run on its (nearly) max graphic settings
- no updates necessary
- (nearly) no bugs
- long "time-to-live" (if you want to be always up to date on PC you have to buy a new Pc nearly every half year)

Cons:
- games are kinda expensive
- no system upgrades
- gamepads are kinda expensive
- games, too
- graphic sucks after about a year (may differ from someone else)

PC:

Pro:
- "multi task platform" (not only for playing games)
- MODs
- system upgrades, everytime possible
- mouse+keyboard

Cons:

- expensive hardware (most of it)
- driver/hardware problems
- some games aren't even available or ar bugged

Cannot think of other reasons, atm ^^

I use them both, but I use a PC more often.
And my next platform will be a new PC :P
A work in progress, leave me alone.

While this may be true, I thought, that some of you are closer friends and therefore use this forum not only for mod-discussions but for general stuff :P

Since most of my favorite games have been mods, I'll stick with PCs, and not many strategy games come out on consols. Also, I can't stand those little joysticks required for aiming in FPSs on gamepads.

IMO it all goes on the type of games (if its in gaming perspective)

Consoles are better for sports and simulations while PC is better for RTS,FPS....

as said you cant really compare em too much on which is better when it comes to game

Hmm, consoles are definitely better for sports games and arcade like games (like SSBM), but PC is better for shooting games and strategy games (which I play most of the time).

however, the wii might change that, since it has a different controlller and all.

Overall, PC ftw.

What an incredibly easy question. PC's are superior in just about every conceivable way (:P) so of course I'm running a PC.

Well ok, I also have an old, second-hand xbox to play fighting games on every now and then but I'd never have bought it if they continued to publish fighting games on the PC.

I've noticed that most of you say that consoles are superior in Sport and Simulations. But why?
Because of the gamepad?
Gamepads/Joysticks/Wheels and so on are also available for PC. Some of them even cost less than 20 bucks.
Because of the "availability"?
Sure: FIFA 200x, Icehockey etc. are nearly only released on console but is this really the reason? There is also a lot of emulationsoftware on the internet. So I wonder why? :P

Yes, there's a lot of sporting titles for PC (FIFA, PES, NFL etc. etc.), and if you want console-like control for sports and similation games there are gamepads and joysticks for that. (I prefer real combat sim e.g. Jane's F-15 over the arcade'ish AC, but that's me)

Consoles are just a corporate war with no real choices (you have to choose the games with the console). With a PC you're free to make your computer however you like it.

Problem is you need a lot of something called money to do it.

Both. I grew up on consoles (and the Gameboy) for awhile, and I still use them a lot (though my newest system- my PS2- is really showing its age).

Consoles and PCs both have their advantages and disadvantages. PCs are upgraded very easily, but this contributes to the fact that the tech is obsolete within about 1 week of you buying it. Consoles are far less flexible, but cheaper since you don't need to upgrade every month. Big change in one concentrated burst rather than little changes over time. (PS3 doesn't count.)

Also, consoles are built around gaming and just that, so it's easier and cheaper to make them. Consoles are for more casual gaming, which can be fun, while PCs are for enthusiast gaming.

With consoles even moreso, because to gain access to the same amount of software that the PC offers you'd need to buy every single console in existence.
