Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight


Overall 6/10 the tittle already hurts it's overall score, but then it's a Crypt film so it gets a +1.5 cause you know what you are getting into

Plot:3/10 A bunch of people are trapped in a Hotel/Home surrounded by Demon Zombies because a cop pissed off the chief Demon... Well I won't give the rest of it away. Basically after that people do the usual fuck this I'm taking my chances and end up a zombie. A few people get tempted by the demon guy, gets possed and tries to eat people. The next person who gets tempted thinks about what happened with the lady and then maybe he will be nice to me instead, wrong! And so on and so forth, typical zombie/hellspawn movie.

Acting: 8/10 Very surprising, it even had the guy who went back in time with his shotgun and chainsaw to deal with Demons in the Middle Ages, so I kinda see a theme with this guy.

LOL/Scary Factor 4/10 wasn't scared but laughed at it... alot.

Great to watch if it comes on TMN or whatever movie network you have.

Starship Troopers 3


Overall: 5/10 Basically I was dissapointed that most of the actors from the first one were absent so -2 (The second never happened and all the copies should be fucking burned.) I mean the only guy who stayed was Ricco, who totally kicked ass in a movie where you don't expect much anyways.

Acting: 3/10, What acting? "OMG THEY BROKE THROUGH THE BARRIER ARRGGGGG"

Plot: 6/10 It actually made sense (within the context) except bug killing scenes were far a few between. However it had those lol commercial we all loved from the 1st one.


LOL/WTF factor: 5/10 Laughed at the commercial did some WTFs? At the characters and their evolution in the storyline.

@ The ACO (A Clorkwork Orange) people bassically it is one of the most messed up movies, EVER you either like it or hate it. All I have to say is that Kubrick is a Genious and FMJ is fucking awesome and so is Dr. Strangelove. (Stanley Kubrik was imprisoned by the US government because the B-52 interiors used in his movie were almost identical to the real ones and they thought he was stealing plans for the Soviets. Once he showed them the pictures he used to model his sets they let him out.)

I don't think they actually imprisoned him, but he did become intensely nervous about how exactly his set design team knew, since all they had to go on was a scaled up B-29 cockpit to fit the dimensions, and USAF watchers of the film described it as absolutely accurate, even down to the CRM-114 coded radio where they got their orders from (or failed to...). Something fishy I think, but I can't recall any genuine legal ramifications, only the fear of them.

Night and Fog

Documentary about German Concentration camps, highly recommended. It is one of the few films to actually make me tear up. Granted the quality is not exactly top notch, but the details and the photos from the camp covered for it. Overall: 9.5/10

Cube Zero: 6/10

Prequel to Cube, this is unfortunately much less interesting than the first movie even though there's considerably more action. Though amusing with the traps, it's not really a good film otherwise, especially because now not the cube is the enemy but the people that visibly run it, taking a lot of the mystery that made the first one good, away.

In the extras on the DVD it says he was taken in for questioning and incarcerated for a short period of time...

Kelly's Heroes 9/10

A wartime masterpiece about a bank job under taken by a group of soldiers on three days of leave. Clint Eastwood as a demoted Lieutenant and Donald Sutherland as the Oddball Tank Commander lead a scratch team deep into German lines to steal $16m in Gold. A must see.

Agreed again - awesome film and I just want the DVD so I can watch it again.

Three movies - says a lot for my university course that I've watched three movies in three days during supposed lecture times

American Gangster:
This one reminded me of Zodiac in some ways, in that it shows the near obsession that one person has in catching another. There are some very extreme moments in this movie, but for example, without giving away the storyline, Denzel Washington's character casually walks up to a rival drug dealer and asks him to hand over money. He does not, so in plain view of several dozen people on the street, he puts a gun to his head and pulls the trigger. This movie is not for the faint hearted. The movie is long, two and a half hours, but the time flies by. Both Denzel Washington as the lead drug-lord of Harlem, and Russel Crowe, head of the Federal Movement against narcotics, give fantastic performances. The story line veers and swerves several times, and is not always easy to follow, but it tells the story well, and brings all the loose ends together at the end in a culmination that you don't really see coming. Clever, violent, utterly gripping story about the drug-ridden streets of Harlem during the era of the Vietnam War. And what's more, it's all true.

The Butterfly Effect:
Normally, I don't have that much time for Ashton Kutcher, but this and The Guardian have come to change my mind, at least for a while. Kutcher plays a kid who has an extremely disturbed childhood, and at defining moments of said childhood, only blackouts. While at University, he discovers that by re-reading his journals of the moments leading up to the blackouts, he can recover his memories of those incidents. The film is based upon the Chaos Theory, which states that if a butterfly flaps it's wings somewhere, a Typhoon is created elsewhere - essentially some small change can lead to many greater changes. This is defined by Kutcher going back to his memories and finding that he is interacting with them. He proceeds to change one small detail, and immediately his entire future is changed, causing untold damage. Furthermore, such changing of memories crams his brain with memories, and each time he goes back to another memory, his brain gets irreparabley damaged. As he changes his future, he begins to realise that no matter what he does, nothing can be perfect or planned out for him and his childhood sweetheart, Amy Smart, whose suicide prompted him to start these changes. Fortunately, this film does not suffer from the usual blues of boy loves girl - it focuses more on the side of how the smallest change can prompt a huge difference - Dauth may be able to tell you more about the Chaos Theory.

The Guardian:
As above, I'm not a fan of Ashton Kutcher, but I am of Kevin Costner. This details the lives of the US Coastguard Rescue Swimmers, who are the men responsible for diving into freezing cold seas in the middle of winter in order to save lives. Costner plays the elite veteran, Kutcher the young upstart there to prove that he is better in every way in that he can beat Costner's old swimming records. He soon realises that there is more to this job, however, than beating records, and pushes himself to be the best that he can be. Sometimes predictable, but also very watchable, it makes you realise the lengths that some people go to, and the courage with which they start every day.

Caramel: A movie that finally gives you a different perspective about Lebanon. Unlike most movies that come out about my home country, this one does not revolve around war, rather it details the stories of six different women each facing difficult taboo issues such as infidelity, homosexuality, and other dilemmas. The movie is well directed and the story is quite realistic and non-linear. I really enjoyed it because I could connect to the stories and because I missed speaking Arabic However, the movie ends a little abruptly. Therefore i give it four stars.


Jeux D'enfants (Love Me If You Dare): A really original take on a love story, this French movie details the game that goes on between two kids and how it eventually leads to them falling in love and hurting each other in many different ways. Marion Cotillard is just so beautiful in this film IMO. Also, the movie is filmed in a very artistic style. In fact, you can interpret the ending in many different ways and yet each seems to make perfect sense. The story is very captivating and does not get mushy anywhere at all though some scenes are truly heartbreaking

. Overall I'd say this is one love movie I'd recommend to all and is much better than most of the love movies Hollywood seems to shit out every month. 5 stars easily.

Passchendaele WWI Movie about the Canadian corps at the 3rd battle of Ypres

Overall 8/10
Action sequences: 9/10
Characater Development: 6/10 (not that is wasn't bad, it was just simply too long and I wanted to see more combat and less British Douchebagery [not intended to insult the Brits here but this was quite accurate for the period. While Canada was still a British Dominion English officers played a great role in recruiting and hampering the CEF at the front.])

Storyline: 10/10 since it is "verbatim" from the character in question and I'll take the director's word for it.

Accuracy: 8/10 it shows the hrutality and the horors commited by both sides of the war (The Tripple Alliance and the Central Powers. TP: England+Colonies/Dominions, France and Russia(For a while) CP: Germany Austro-Hungary, Italy for a while and the Ottoman Empire, we only see Germans, Canadians and a few Brits in the movie however) This includes the Crusifiction of a Canadian soldier behind German trenches which was a huge debate post war and during the war. Also there was a huge melee fight when both sides had to reload their rifles.

Brutality:7/10 see above statement.

Best line: "The biggest challenge on the modern battlefield is keeping your matches dry."

Canadians go see it its part of your History.

Everyone else espescially Americans if it plays in a local movie theatre also go see it with an open mind the two World Wars did not only have Americans in it.

"The reach of those projectiles which will effect a deadly hit is 200 meters. The building, they're firing from is about 230. That's 30 meters too much.So, why the hell are you hiding???"

Dont be a menace to South Central while drinking you juice in da hood- 10/10 - Basically a must watch

How High: 10/10 Also a must watch if you want a fun movie

Scarface: 10/10- Basically the best Pacino movie ever

Monthy Phyton: The Meaning of Life 9.50/10- What else to say about it

Forest Gump: 9.50/10 - IMO one of the best movies featuring Tom Hanks

Spies like us: 9/10- Damn funny movie (and its a comedy...)

Hellboy: 7/10 - Not a bad movie though acting couldve been better

Prison Circle: 6/10 - Game of footie between cons and guards...acting and realism should have been better

Enemy at the Gates - 8/10

Good WW2 movie, plus sniping which is always a plus. Somewhat overdramatised at certain points it may be, yet still well worth an eight. The movie is better in the beginning than in the end, though. I was amused to find out the first eleven minutes are identical to a Call of Duty 2 mission (including protagonist's first name) and that the protagonist's (Zaitsev's), sniper rifle and scope type, right down to the reticle, are accurate to what the real Zaitsev used.

Sorry mate but IW have always based their SP campaigns after movies and TV series ( Enemy at the Gates and Band of Brothers)...in CoD 1 the first mission is totaly the same as a scene in EaG (*cough* the scene where Zaitsev saw a bloodbath on the other side of the river) and even the 2nd mission is the same part where Zaitsev hid himself in a fountain
