Wow, you should learn to stop jumping on every comment when someone states his opinion. It smacks of fanboyism.

in the "worst/best" case we are gonna asume the Tesla Tank is in RA3
RA1 = Tesla Coil and Tesla TANK (and IIRC in one mission the Allieds tank fire lighting but lets ignored that)
RA2 = Tesla Trooper and Tesla power plant + RA1 (and MAYBE we can count the Heroic Tesla Bomb of the Kirov)
RA3 = Tesla Boat + RA2 - Tesla power plant
the same number of Tesla things in RA3 compared to RA2(that asuming tesla tank are back but thats nearly 99% possible)
imo i dont think why Tesla should be limited to Tesla Coils technology advances and after all, how many years is ra3 after ra1? 20? 30? its actually fells more like time is advancing in the saga

Let's see what I can say about what I know so far. I welcome the idea of a new RA game, so let's get that out of the way. I also like the style of the units, it does bring back a good bit of that old RA2 style which I actually quite liked.
What I don't like though is EA's insistence on bringing a third side into every new C&C game. C&C, RA1 and TS were just fine with two sides. And let's face it people, most of the balance issues are actually because three sides are harder to balance than two. C&C is still two sides fighting each other for me, no need for Yuri, Scrin or Otaku to fill up a gap that doesn't exist.
Now to share my opinion on this list of stuff:
Quote
Good, as long as it doesn't water down the purpose of units. I prefer units to be rather singleminded, having only one weapon or maybe two.
Quote
As long as it doesn't deform terrain to the point where it's unbuildable, then nice.
Quote
Now there's a change I like. Ok, it's downright silly and unrealistic, but it's a nice feature and it might actually encourage the kind of huge naval battles we all love so much.
Quote
Ships don't go on land. They float in water. End of story.
Quote
Yay?
Quote
Sounds like an underwater aircraft carrier to me, lol.
Quote
...wtf? What is this, Worms?
Quote
EA should stop watching cartoons... *facepaws*
Quote
Yay! Big thumbs up for this one! Bring on epic Total Annihilation-style naval slugfests!
Quote
A floating tank? Not really that original...
Quote
I certainly hope they're hard enough to warrant that. But it could be fun to try out.
Quote
Like we couldn't all see that from the screenshots anyway.

Quote
What part of gameplay? If units and buildings build slower, then good. If the actual fighting is slower, then bad.
Quote
Nah. It's really the 'cold stare' that does it.
Quote
Ahh yes... the good old big rocket on wheels. As long as it's not as terribly slow and utterly useless as the RA2 version I'm happy.
Quote
Ok and what is a tesla-launcher? Something that fires Croatian scientists? o0
Quote
It might be crazy, but does it actually make sense or is it just a lightshow with nothing else going for it?
Quote
Good. Nothing else to say there.
Quote
Of course. If it won't be better than RA2 why bother making it? Wait... this is EA. Never mind.
Quote
He was fine in RA2. In YR he went from hero to zero.
Quote
Always a plus.

A good game doesn't need an expansion. If you're planning on one before the original is even out, you're doing it wrong.

EA won't do that though, it'll "lose money".

I want to be excited about this game... CnC3 left a small void in me...

The water building thing makes sense, because many of the RA2 units had naval clones:
V3=Dreadnought
Flak Track=Scorpion*
Rhino=Submarine
Attack Dog=squid
Grizzly=Destroyer*
IFV=Aegis Cruiser
and so on...
*I haven't played in a while, the names might not be correct.
