Well I'll be sad and say that yes i did read all seven - if only the last one to find out what happened - wasn't really too interested then. Hmmm.... and to be correct, as I am British and proud of it: it's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone actually - as it was written by a British woman for the British first - henceforth it is Philosopher's Stone as it was 'ported' to America
For there can be no death without life.

Read them all, they're pretty good but then again, I read alot. But in my opinion nothing is better than the LOTR trilogy. It just blows away everything else.

Read up to 6, never bothered with the seventh.
I just lost interest after the 6th came out, and I was about 14 then anyway.
Although, did you know, that in UK, the first book is Called the "Philosopher's Stone", as intended by Rowling.
They changed if for the US, can't remember why.

I read them all; the last one is different from the rest and imo the best one.
The problem with this series is that you are not too interested in reading a new book, but once you started you cannot stop again until you're through. :P

I have a friend named Nathan who is a Harry Potter Fanatic. He says he's trying to read each book 5 times so that he can commit each and every word to memory. Let's try that again; with emphasis: TRYING TO READ EACH BOOK FIVE TIMES SO THAT HE CAN COMMIT EACH AND EVERY WORD IN EVERY BOOK TO MEMORY. Sorry. But come on now! That is obsession. He also likes other magic books like Eragon and stuff.

Read them all, although I just read the last one out of habit instead of just entertainment.

I do too. Whoever thinks that those books are quality reading material does not get out nearly enough.

I read all of them. The sixth nearly killed it for me but I decided to read the seventh.

I think Rowling had a bloodlust when she wrote the last one, it's killtacular. I did like the seventh though because it was a refreshing change from the predictable sequence of classes, personal problems, and evil. My only gripe was that they didn't even leave the UK once.

The last time I touched the Harry Potter books was in 8th grade, when my uncle got me the first 3 in hard back. I wasn't really into them, but I read them and haven't ventured any farther than the third as far as the books go. Even in 8th grade I had little desire for the fantasy world that is/was Harry Potter.

Really, I never understood how anyone could like the whole fantasy genre.

I read all the books; they're not actually that bad, though I lost much of my interest after the Order of the Phoenix. They're not what I'd call literature, but obviously something must be right about them; they've sold better than any book for goodness only knows how long, and the writing isn't terrible by any stretch of the imagination. While I'm not at all into fantasy either, they did hold my imagination for quite a number of years, so like I said it's obvious that they definitely have something right.

A world in which leaders respect the rights of their people, and nations seek peace, not destruction or domination. And neither we nor anyone else should live in fear ever again." - Wesley Clark

Honestly, I loved the books to bits. It was one of the few books that made me reread the entire series in one go.

I've always liked reading, building my own thoughts upon it, fantasy, sci-fi...etc, things that don't really happen if I watched a movie since it really doesn't give you that much mental free-space to imagine it out.

Without fantasy books most games as you know them today, wouldn't be here. Fantasy takes many different forms. LOTR is an excellent book (Miles better than HP), and spawned a huge amount of games, warhammer and many other creations.

I avoid games that don't have nuclear weapons in them. Or undergo Indigo Prophecy syndrome. I've always never liked games with any magic in them whatsoever.

Fantasy carries with it notions of Single-Combat, which has really never applead to me.
