Hello all this is my first post and topic.

My name is Diao Xia I am 15 and am from China.

I joined these forums as I have forum exeperience and before you say "0mg itz another forum troll" your wrong, the forums I came from had very strict rules.So don't worry i'm not a spammer.

My questions are:

How do I paste images onto these forums?

Is it me...Or are some of the rules not being enforced?

And how can I edit that "Technician" bit under my profile?

1. You must encase the image in [img][/img] tags. For example:

[img]http://website.com/image.jpg[/img]

2. --

3. You must achieve 500 posts, and you will be able to edit that tag in your profile.

I want to post my desktop but it's in microsoft word(.doc) and imageshack won't let me upload that..

Welcome to our humble forum. If the file is in MS word, can you save the .jpg or something onto your desktop, then host it to imageshack/photobucket, then copy the [img][/img] into your post. If you still don't understand, add me on MSN and I can explain there.

Heres an easier way to post images:

Go to http://www.imageshack.us/, upload your picture, and then copy + paste the text under "Hotlink for forums (1)".

Sorry but I only have Gmail...

And I really can't be bothered to get MSN/WLM.

And when I try to upload my desktop picture it says "bad file type"..

I've actually got Gtalk as well. Do you have Gtalk, or just GMail. I can talk over that, this thread is just getting a little crazy.

You can't upload .doc files to imageshack, as its not a valid image format.

I presume you have an image in the word document? on the image right click>copy then open up MS Paint, Edit>Paste. Then save it and upload it (to imageshack) like you were trying to do before. Hope that helps

Lol, its OK. Its on imageshack? I don't use it personally, but there should be a little box with something like

[img]www.photobucket.com/image.jpg[/img]

Copy and paste that whole thing into your post.

I did it..Well kinda but it said somthing about "You posted a website link that the admistrator does not allow to" or similar...

That means the image isn't a jpg, jpeg, png, gif, bmp, tif, tiff, or a swf file.

Thanks Hobbes I got past that bit but I get this message when I try to use the *correct link*

As I mentioned in the Desktop thread, you used the wrong Imageshack link. After you have uploaded, scroll down to the bottom until you reach "Direct link to image". Copy that link and encase it in the [img][/img] tags as mentioned earlier.
