pressing shift + F12 when the game starts.... you mean during the splash screen, while the shell map is loading, when the game is loading, or when you are already ingame?...

Btw I made a .big from the files from the download

edit: found out: cant be used from a big file also, can be activated after the shellmap is loaded

You just unzip all the files in ZH directory, no need to pack them into .big...

You can activate the shaders (Shift + F12) ANYTIME during the game.

Hello guys, I have made an update to the Shader 2.0 Mod and it is currently being used in my C&C Tiberian Dawn Redux Mod.

I have spent a while making a fine balance between the bloom and shader effects. The intensity of the shaders seem to vary due to the lighting diversity of all the different maps. I believe this may perhaps rival the C&C3 graphics a bit as I am still in shock about this breakthrough myself due to the fact that we are talking about the 6 year old Zero Hour game here. To my surprise lag is very limited on my machine which only has 1GB of RAM, 1.0ghz dual core processor, and a nVidia 7300 graphics card with 512mb Video RAM. I was also using 1200x1080 resolution.

This version of the Shader 2.0 Mod does not require the Shift+F12 setup... it is automatically activated when Worldbuilder or the Game itself is launched.

I have several screenshots available here and my websites...

I am curious, how much would your in-game scenery change if you disabled Shader 2.0? Could you post a comparison screen?

Looks really good.

Can you show us a screenshot with the ui enabled? I want to see how it is affected.

While I do admit the interface does seem to fluctuate in the bloom effects on some maps and on different graphics settings, it overall looks much better than what initial tests came out to be if you guys know what I am talking about (the super blinding blurs), here is the current build with the user interface in-game...

Nice, it makes the game look so much better.

EDIT: Also, if I got it right, you guys edited the shader thing yourselves to make it look nice and work with the game without having to Shift+F12, or is it an update from the developer of this shader?

Yes, it is the exact same shader mod mentioned earlier in this topic... it has just simply been modified (the .ini file) by myself and optimized for the Generals and Zero Hour SAGE Engine.

I am interested in personally trying out your Shader 2.0. Could you by chance upload just the necessary files here for it out of convience?

Or at least the ini code.

Not only does this add on cripple most graphics cards, but it overlays everything. Including videos, menus, and cameos. Some could even argue it decreases graphic quality.

I would stop wasting my time with this.

While that may be your opinion on it, I am interested in how he set up the .ini file so that the effects don't ruin the game completely.

I have the actual DLL after I did some searching on my computer, I just need his .ini values so I can throw it onto my copy of ZeroHour.

This is not by any means a final setup, as I am still doing experiments with it and updating it. I also pasted the files in the Vanilla Generals and Zero Hour Game and it is amazing to see that that game's 6 year old graphics are modified well with very little lag even without the new terrain textures and scenery that I am now using in mods. (much less lag issues than with my current version of my TD Redux mod which I believe is due to my new enhanced AI and high poly models) But here is the current version which should produce the results as seen in the last two screenshots...

Many thanks. Whenever you have a better set up for this please post what you have here. :)

'Cause I tried looking through your mod and couldn't find the actual .ini file for this and the values.
