i like the word brah. i switch brah with the word mate or bud for similar effect. i dont see the problem with it being used. its like a friendly mannerism added onto a sentence.

i probably wouldnt use it myself cause im not a surfer but i think its fine to use in normal conversation. i mean i do know how to use the english language correctly with grammer and contextual wording but when youre talking in a friendly way its nice to drop down a gear. makes you more approachable i think.

its similar to me using the word "yah" randomly, something i picked up from my south african ex. girlfriend from a few years back.

Well put. Especially online where you don't have the benefit of tone, it adds a lighter, friendlier, more informal touch to whatever you're saying.
