Hello. I'm new on this forum, but I've been watching it for quite some time, and know that there are many skilled 3d/texture artists here, so I figured this could be a good place to get some opinions on my work.

For now, I just want to show some pictures from what used to be my C&C 3 expansion mod: C&C 3: Retaliation.
Since EA seems unwilling to release a mod SDK for KW I've stopped all work on my mod, and I'm not likely to continue unless EA decides to make the SDK.
I don't want the mod to just die without people knowing it ever existed, but since it's no longer in development the C&C 3: Tiberium Wars Editing forum didn't seem suitable, so I'll just post the pics here instead.

Anyway; here are some ingame pictures. (Click thumbnails for full size pics)

Note that the Tiberium fiend was made in cooperation with Stygs, and is based on the BFME warg model, allowing us to use the same animations. The model also appears in Stygs' mod: TW Advanced.

As the pics show, some of the old ingame models have been somewhat modified, while the new models were made completely from scratch.
Some more pics and information can be found in the original mod announcement thread over at PPM.
If renders of the models are prefered in this forum I guess I can make some, but I'm not very good at making good looking renders :rolleyes:

Thanks for the positive feedback so far. There is still a chance I might resurrect the mod if EA releases a KW mod SDK (and it would have to be soon, not in 6 months), but since this is an enhancement/expansion mod, it just seems pointless to make it for vanilla C&C 3. Instead of enhancing the game it would have to compete with KW :D

After playing around with different render settings i finally managed to make a decent render :). Keep in mind that this is one of the first models I ever textured, so it's not quite as good as some of my later models.

I was actually working on the FX at the time it became clear that EA wouldn't release any mod SDK in the near future, so I'm afraid it was never finished.
I was going for a slightly cyan-tinted distort effect, but it was quite far from complete at the time I stopped working on it.
Completing it should not be a problem, but due to some very annoying issues with the C&C 3 SAGE engine, it would take some time to make it work correctly. (Main problem is related to firing both "beams" continously at the same time, every time.)

Yeah, I'm aware of that. At first I made the diameter of the barrels too large, making the overall scale of the tank look wrong. It also looked a bit overpowered, so I scaled down the diameter, but perhaps a bit too much. I might fix this if I ever start working on the mod again.

EA has never stated this directly, so there is still a possibility they will make one.
However according to Apoc, a mod SDK for KW has not yet been planned, so if they decide to make it we shouldn't expect it any time soon... this is what he said more than a month ago, and still there is no sign of a mod SDK, so I'm not very optimistic :lol:.
Even if they decide to make the SDK, I'm still losing interest every day without it, so when it finally comes, it may already be too late.

APOC said it wasn't planned, as they want to see vCnC3 mods comming out...

As I said, it just feels pointless for me to make an expanison mod for vC&C 3 when KW adds so much more content and so many more features than I can ever hope to add with my mod.
I want to modify, improve, and add to KW, rather than having to compete with it.
Sure, the mod could be fun to play anyway, but just thinking about all the extra content I would be able to modify (6 new subfactions to individualize :lol: ) if EA cared just a tiny bit about modders, and released the SDK, robs me of all motivation to continue the work.

People who own Kane's Wrath will not play a vanilla C&C mod - being spoilt for choice with the subfactions, new units and upgrades.

Apart from the Predator tank - too boxy and Abrams like for my taste - I am impressed by everything there, Chronosheep. I sincerely hope the Mod SDK comes out before your interest flat lines. :P

I think all those are quite nice. I would in particular like to see a render of the two nod vehicles that have hover.
