We don't even KNOW how strong the regular Oni really is. Do you really believe that this thing takes out Russian MBTs in one shot? My original point still stands: They upped the damage to make it look more spectacular in the video. There's no way they'll add an assault unit that can be build multiple times which smashes tanks in one hit and fires this quickly.

Maybe.
Because his cost and that is ultimate Empire unit, maybe Oni kills MBTs in one shoot.
But nobody knows is this gonna be in full version or not.

Dude, you see that Nuke Cannon can take out almost any ground unit in 1 shot, yet extremely vulnerable; even Nuke Overlord/ Emperor needs 2-3 shot to take out a Scorpion, depends on upgrades and veterancy. There should be no way that thing can take out a heavy MBT in 1 shot, even if it's an epic-ish unit. It's like saying "a single Apocalypse Tank in RA2 can kill a Rhino Tank in no time" yet it can't.
However, I do appreciate that you said "nobody knows".
Also, I guess Red Oni will be like Tesla Tank, only appear in campaign.

an Oni is an evil deity, demongod, whatever. Seems like a fit name for this unit.
