Also try Act of War when you like abit more Realistic Gameplay, with nice Graphics.

You can get both the Game and the Expansion (wich makes it alot better) for around 10 Euros.

I'm going to quad this. I own both Company of Heroes, and Company of Heroes - Opposing Fronts and let me tell you, it's the greatest RTS I've ever played. Sporting both excellent gameplay (currently with slight balance issues), and stunning graphics it's a total package. For some teaser screenshots hit up the "Post your best game screenshots" thread and look for the few I posted. Let me tell you though, running on full settings is going to require a Crysis-esque PC to run. I custom run it between meduim and full, with no lag on 1vs1s and 2vs2s, but after that, things get laggy in a hurry. For comparison purposes, I run a Dual Core E6600 2.4GHz, a Gig of RAM and a nVidia 7900GS on a WinXP OS.

Supreme Commander
Perimeter - Quite unique among RTS's. It undersold, but a very solid game. You can terraform the land, and you have 3 types of basic units like soldier, technichian and something else. You can combine varying amounts of these basic units into better units. You can also transform them back into basic units, then transform them into something better. So if you have 3 seismic tanks, you can convert them back into their constituent basic units then reform them into something more useful. Say you are being attacked by air units. Transform them into anti-air units.

Let's see...

Any C&C

Age of Empires 2 (Yes I had a Windows 98, and 3 just lost the spirit of previous games)

Civilization 3 (4 was somewhat crap for Civilization series)

Empire Earth 1 (Didnt try 2 while 3 sucks the way it looks)

Act of War

World in Conflict

and don't forget C&C ShockWave and ZHU for your Zero Hour although ZHU isn't out yet. :P

In Ground Control 2 you can fuse units too, when you play as Virons.

For example make 2 rocket soldiers into 1 mortar soldier, or 2 gun centruriods into 1 missile centruriod

Totally agree - on its highest settings it looks more spectacular than Company of Heroes while providing probably the most adrenaline-filled RTS experience (and especially multiplayer, or so I am led to believe) out there. But you don't have to run it on its highest settings - they are adjustable enough that it will run on any decent computer built in the last four years or so. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

"Working together, we can build a world in which the rule of law — not the rule of force — governs relations between states. A world in which leaders respect the rights of their people, and nations seek peace, not destruction or domination. And neither we nor anyone else should live in fear ever again." - Wesley Clark

Yes multiplayer is awesome, and my comp can run it on lowest settings (doesnt look very pretty, but its how it plays what counts right? :P) lag-free! :O

To get started: Get First decade plus Ultimate strategy pack (THQ, SupCom, Vanilla CoH, DoW gold edition). After that, get World in conflict, an Age of Empires, CnC3 and if you like, stock in on the expansion packs of DoW SupCom and CoH. I'm training right now with Company of Heroes, Supreme commander and World in Conflict online with my friend (2v2) and individually too.

Also ANYONE who has WiC, CoH or SupCom and wants a good old fashioned game, just ask me or pick me up on XFire (medve1337) I'll have my nets sorted out by then. I didn't have it for 3 weeks so I'm posting from workplace on a shitty ass laptop with Adobe flash player 5 without the rights to update.

Medve

EDIT: TOTAL ANNIHILATION FTW!!! And I forgot Act of War.

And as far as I see, you have a lot of shopping (mostly THQ, Sierra and combination of both) to do :loel:
