On topic: If there is Generals 2, I hope it'd be easy to mod, and keep all teh goods General/ZH Have.

Off again: Err, maybe because my comp craps, but I thought Generals' SAGE is better than RA3/C&C3 SAGE...

I hope they don't try to make 12 generals again. Even on a basic level, some generals are WAYYY too similar to each other (Nuke & vChina, vGLA & Demo, humvee generals). No more than 9 Generals after the expansion, hopefully. The generals should be different from each other but not too different, something like vChina and Infantry would be nice, having radically different units but still keeping some basic links and feel.

EA will have a bad base, considering CCG and ZH's storyline. Hopefully they'll focus on the game play element, variety, and balance.

Well, maybe they noticed that a Story was lacking big time, so they could do a Campaign wich would invovle every General.

A Member has once posted a similiar Thread as an Idea for a Mod here, wich sounded quite Nice.
Basically it was about a Campaign wich involved each General, depending on wich Faction you choosed you had those Generals as Allies or Enemies ...

I am interested in seeing what the story is going to be about... just no real world spin offs. Actually have some imagination behind it...

@ EVE, that actually sounds kind of like the campaign idea behind Red Alert 3.

I hope they use the Generals Selection System as it was intended to be from the Command Centre where you would choose your General. I don't care much about the story, but I would like to see the three original factions make a return.

And, for Heaven's sake, f**k the sidebar back to hell where it belongs.

No way.

They're game needs to advanced, and RA3 already looks very complicated.
If they wan't to make any Progress, they need make Generals II even more Complicated.

So I doubt it.

By looking at RA3's file structure, I'd say it's the same as TW/KW. Though of course RA3 uses an Enhanced version of SAGE, so should Generals 2.

What a silly thing to think.

If they want the game to have a successful community, they need to keep modding simple, yet expansive. It worked for UT2004 and CSS. If they care for the modding community, they'll go easy on the complexities this time around.

And "advanced" != "complicated."

The more new stuff they add (mechanics, better Engine wich opens more possibilities but is more complicated etc.), the more complicated it will get to mod it.
If they don't add new Stuff, there's no Reason to buy it.

EA seems very happy with there 3 faction + subfaction set up, its highly unlikely Russia will be included in this project we don't know exists.

But if EA once again feels like banking on current 'hot' international affair then there is every chance not only for Russia to have a part, but also a wholesale change of conflicting sides.

I'd like to see every side in the original Generals to be represented by different entities but with their goals/aims unchanged. E.g. maybe NATO in place of the USA, Russia in place of China and a secret terrorist organization hell bent on inciting Mutually Assure Destruction by provoking nuclear war between NATO and Russia. Sounds similar already? Instead of relying on rag-tag Great War-era weaponry this terror organization may be equipped to an extent they more than matches either NATO or Russia, but limited to their few numbers, maybe because to be able to utilize high-tech weaponry only a select few money-worshiping mercenaries are enlisted, to forward the harmful cause of said Organization.
