That sounds like a mixture between RA1, RA3, TD and TW :)

Generals was meant to include GDI,Nod, Soviets and Allies but WestWood scrapped it...

Also I'd laugh if EA made a CNC game featuring the Tiberium Series with the Red Alert universe.

Not Generals. It was intended to be CnC3, but EA scrapped it and created Generals. SAGE originally intended for that CnC3 was also transfered to Generals. Chronologically it would be old CnC3 --> Generals --> the CnC3 we know today.

Well, never mind, we've got AllStars for that... personally I'm extremely glad that the original Generals didn't go down that path. A mod yes, a whole game, no thank you.

Generally it wouldn't need to be easy to mod if they make it good enough, as mods would not be needed in that case.

You do know that is very dangerous to say on a modding forum :P

Mods are needed because playing the same old content can get boring after a while...Even while RA3 is good it's getting boring with limited units.

Hence why ShW and many mods are made.

Exactly, no matter how good something is, you usually have something you want to modify, big and small, wether you want to summon a balrog army or rip out the vocal cords of the blue arrow defender.

Generals 2 for me is hard to visualize since apparantly the latest generation of RTS games is heading towards toaly 3D shiny units, SC2 and RA3 leading the charge.

Generals is the first game where massing one unit type just does not work, that's the good thing about it. I therefore love hearing this and really hope this is true.

In Generals, tanks are slow, tankbuster infantry build fast, fire fast and are sorta invulnerable to tank shells. Now THAT is what I call real rock-paper-scissor balance. Also, another good and original thing is that the tech structure for each faction is different.

Not what is in CnC3 where Predators and Scorpions outsped the APCs, the rocket men were stupid with their fancy slow rockets, and the said tanks could even be upgraded to a certain energy weapon which makes them rape infantry too. That's a broken game from the beginning on. Also every faction is built up nearly the same! All have an MBT, all have dedicated anti infantry, all have a dedicated building clearer (albeit the GDI one is infantry), all have a tier 3 monstrous pwner unit which essentially does the same.

Red Alert 3 unfortunately is just the same. All factions get units very similar in their role, all a big ship, all a specialized anti-naval unit, all a tier 3 anti armor unit, all .. the same.

If they make Generals 2 in a similar fashion I will be furious.

In Generals, the three factions were actually different in their tech structure, only China with the Overlord having a real buster unit.

Amagad! That stuff is amazing :wow:

Look at the particle effects & the new asymmetric parallel perspective they use for 3D calculations.

Or maybe we are gullible for believing that they believed it and they were in on the whole thing.

That could create a paradox.
