Today: An important and possibly grave announcement. It's not meant to make anyone sad, though.

That's sad - I hope you return to it one day, as the articles I read were relevant, interesting, and always amusing. You certainly debunk the myth that Germans have no sense of humour. Good luck with the future, and as I said, I hope you don't leave SDF for good.

Well, leading a website is more exhausting than one would think. Perhaps I will post some irregular articles here on FS in a thread called 'Rayburn's Random Rants' or something like that. I actually like the idea. Basically, it saves me all the time consuming bits about having a website, i.e. layout, sections, comments, spam prevention, etc. so I can solely focus on the important part: The actual message. I think I'll consider it after I'm done with the army. Fear not, lads, you won't get rid of me yet!

Shame really, I really enjoyed your blog.
I've hit a similar hurdle with mine: I no longer have the time to seek new forms of media to write about that I used to. I think from here on in I'll simply be using to post about musical trends, the happenings of my every day life and updates in the form of my pixel characters: VERY infrequently.

On the part of CoD MW2 i totally agree with you...my wishes would be to get some remade CoD1 classic maps too (my biggest wish being Pavlov) and nationalisation of some specific weapons (e.g. SA80 for the brits, M16/M4 to the US etc...)

Ooh yes, Pavlov definately deserves a remake. I was also rather fond of Chateau, Brecourt and Bocage, though.

Not sure about Chateau (well if they ever reinstate Retrival mode then a remake is a must) but Brecourt does need one. Oh and Railyard should be remade too.

So with you there. Disney hasn't made a cartoon movie since... well I'm not sure there. Atlantis maybe? That was a really good looking movie from memory as well.
As Yahtzee pointed out, they all follow exactly the same plot as well:
Off the top of my head, Kung-Fu Panda, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Monsters Inc all follow this formula.
And IMO, high quality animation looks way better than any quality of 3D animation. That being said, I have high hopes for the Astro-Boy movie in the making, simply because it's not being made by Disney and looks like the best bits of The Incredibles (IE. Giant Robots and such) made into a full length movie.
As Yahtzee pointed out, they all follow exactly the same plot as well:
Quote
One or more lovable protagonists have existed for some time in a stable but fundamentally flawed routine, which is shaken up by the introduction of a foreign entity, usually another character, around whom attitudes are initially hostile. Attempts to deal with this character eventually lead to the protagonist(s) discovering a new, unfamiliar world, and in doing so discover the nature of the fundamental flaw in their routine. Villains are usually introduced or only become truly villainous from around the mid-point or quite late into the film. Along the way the heroes enlist the help of various lesser characters with clearly definable quirks and at one point reluctantly enter a high-speed chase. The villain is generally finally defeated with surprising ease, and everything concludes in an emotionally manipulative ending in which routine is restored with the fundamental flaw excised.

End of the line, part 2
Welcome to the last update of SDF.com. Since the site itself will be shut down pretty soon, I decided to post my final article here on Fallout where it can be preserved for eternity. It’s also meant as a bit of a tribute to the Fallout community because it has been my greatest source of support throughout the short, yet exciting history of the website. So, without further ado, let’s get rolling for one last time.
To be honest, I really don’t know what to say, sadly. I’ve stated my reasons and I made clear that this is how it must be but and since I didn’t want to make this farewell too sentimental, I’ve decided to do some recapping of all the fun we’ve (hopefully) had with SDF.com. Even though it’s been just a little more than four months, there’s been a lot of stuff going and we have learned a whole lot of interesting things:
We have learned that Bowser has become an ineffectual hanger-on who takes orders from Ganondorf and some weirdo who looks like Dr. Manhattan's retarded twin
We have learned that the aliens will probably never answer Uri Geller’s question as to whether there is dog food in space
We have learned that World War 1 really isn’t a good setting for a Call of Duty game
We have learned that Mother Nature Nature did one hell of a piss-poor job with our teeth
We have learned that fridges are perfect nuclear bomb shelters and that Indiana Jones might indeed be a communist spy
We have learned that the excitement of Christmas is anti-proportional to ageing
We have learned that 90% of everything is crud except for the internet where it’s actually 99.9%
We have learned that the Pokémon species known as ‘Voltorb’ is actually a deadly new type of clusterbomb designed by the US military
We have learned that there is no definitive way to pronounce the name ‘Statham’, especially in Germany
We have learned that you just cannot trust aliens, terrorists, Uwe Boll, MadDoc Studios, Gametrailers, objectophiles, people who can't spell, the Roman god Saturn, weaboos, Katy Perry, pirates, vampires, fanboys, American smalltown sheriffs, YouTube, Treyarch, Toads, friendly NPCs, astrologists, the Crazy Frog, the EU, Imageshack and about three quarters of the entire human race.
You see, my dear readers, friends and spambots, we’ve learned a lot in these few months but now is the time to finish this as painlessly and dignified as possible. SDF.com is over and done with and depending on whether you’re sad or not, you can read the last part of this update while listening to either this song (sad) or this song (not sad). Ladies and gentlemen: Good bye and may the force be with you.

Thanks Stinger, but I doubt that the site will return in its original shape and form. I might actually go to the uni and study something after I'm done with the army. That's right, I don't feel like being an office clerk anymore because I'm sick of being treated like an idiot during those damn tests. I'm feeling ambitious right now which, I tell you, does not occur too often. What I might do, however, is post future articles here on Fallout, seeing that you guys formed my entire readership. No guarantees, though. Maintaining an independent website on my own is simply too much now that my free time is over.
