I mean, technically HIV isn't even an infection-it's a virus. Infection in medical terms generally means bacterial. Disease can refer to anything.

Crabs, syphillis, gonorrhea, herpes, hepatitis(I'm not sure)...

I was making a point that many STDs aren't bacterial. Crabs, for instance, are actually parasites.

back to my attempted original point. STIs and STDs are close enough to the same thing. No point arguing about terms.
