Yes, but they need a specific version of 3ds max to work... Too bad for the ones who has the newer ones like me.

You know, you need either 7, 8, 9, or now I think even 10 works, to mod CnC3/RA3, and for generals you need either 4 (gmax) or 7 or 8....

10 doesn't work for me for RA3, I can't use the shaders that are specific to v7 or 9 only...

Same here. Wiht generals you can model with Any max versions and import on Renx..a free tool.
"The entire ocean. The entire world. Wherever we want to go, we'll go. That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs but what a ship is... what Tidal Wars really is... is freedom."

Blame Autodesk, not EA. It was AD that decided to end development of GMax, dooming it to soon be incompatible with any up-to-date programs used in the industry. Plus, seeing how most people acquire their copy of 3DS, one can pretty much say that 3DS9 is a free tool. What EA supplied as exporters was more than enough for TW and RA3.
Also, if you really want an exporter, make one. The W3X format is extremely simple and straightforward. Using a GMax Grabber, you could very well make use of its parser to dump the data into a W3X. Or use Blender.

There is even a schema file that shows how W3X is made up in the ModSDK.

Have some solid editing tools. Easy to use, fun, addictive. Easy importing to the interweb. A unit maker and a map maker (Yes, I am aware of Worldbuilder) would be nice, in addition to maybe a video capture thing, like in Skate.

Live action Cutscenes. Not just news reports, actors on the battlefield, but CGI of course where needed.

Some epic-ass setpieces. Like the dam, remember that?

Remove the easiness of getting the shadow bleed bug.
Holy shit I just spent the last hour and a half trial and erroring to get rid of one, I was to shoot a kitten in the face.

That one was fixed ages ago in a more up-to-date version of SAGE.
