Just purchased the Valve pack so I shall be joining you all in good time, just let me familiarize myself with the games first.

No Skype as yet.

Skype is not necessary all valve games have voice chat.

You can either use the built-in voice option which is easy to use but can degenerate into bad quality, or use Skype which is stand-alone but has very high quality and is extremely easy to set up.

Yes, but what do I need to press to talk? I'm used to programs like Ventrilo and Teamspeak, but those normally utilise push to talk, which would be inconveinient playing an FPS. I also have skype.

Yes it can but you really need headsets or the interference with more than 3 people.
