In Russia is it often said that mistakes are made only when they are admitted. And for once, the Union's notorious Ministry of Experimental Science made a mistake when it introduced the Desolator Troopers. Their poisons are so vile that most other Soviet remnant forces soon learned to stay far away. Those who did not tended to die rather shockingly.

Seems pretty cool, it does look like a Big Daddy with petrol nozzles though.
Also has very little to do with the original Desolator...

I hope they change the particle effect for the Desolator's spray because that is a direct rip from the C&C 3 Corrupter's.
Aside from that he looks good. I'm reminded of a Toxin Rebel on steroids.
Dr. Thrax would be proud.

I remember the Desolaters from RA2, nasty fellows. I looking forward to the Cryo Legionarries more though.

The Cryo Legionaire is just a mixed of Chrono Legionaire and Navy SEALS armed with Cryo gun and can jumpjet like Zone Troopers... I got nothing on this...
Seriously can't EA just put chrono teleport then a stupid jumpjet!?
The Desolator is kinda cool with its ability to destroy enemy armor easy.. Thought I like old Desolator a lot better.. I agree with Stinger the particle effect looks more like the corrupter, but i don't understand what Rayburn said about " behave rather oddly when changing targets"?

I'm referring to the way it 'jumps' from one target to another, especially near the end of the first part where it melts the Japanese troopers.
It's quite minor though. I'm actually more bothered by the fact that it IS the Corruptor-effect from TW...

Hmm, I would like to see the version with the 2 tanks on top of the armour instead of the current version. It still looks nice though.

The lore is well written this time
I like this unit concept though I will agree that the effect needs to be changed though it's possible that this isnt the final one as we have seen from other preview videos. Also, the unit design is quite unique I'd say. I see no reason why it has to link to the older desolator. The desolator name comes from the desolator airstrikes in RA3.

Dropping in 4 Tesla Troopers and 4 desolaters into the enemy base with gunships would be quite the strategy i think.

That's probably the Future Tank X1 - as it doesn't look remotely related to the Pacifier and sure as heck is not a Gunship. And yeah, looks possible Zhen, but didn't they remove it because of it's game-changing balance issues? Possibly related to something else?
EDIT: On second thoughts, the mech thing with orbs is likely to be the Pacifier FAV, as there is a new tank, which I assume is the Future Tank, in the middle left of the shot - firing at the mecha tengu.

Neat. I do wonder where it will fit in the Allied arsenal though - they seem to have most areas covered already - what use is another tank?
As an aside - I was wondering about the way this will be downloaded - if we already have all the content from RA3, is there any need to download it all again, or will the game be able to reuse the content from the original like an expansion pack would? Would be annoying to have two copies of Red Alert 3 content on my hard drive.

This made me think of Tekken for some reason
Anyway, seems like an epic unit to especially since it is built as a nanocore and must unfurl.

The red alert button should be back - I think - since they said Uprising would be based only on solo play.
So, how do you construct Giga Fortress is: Imperial Docks-Nanotech Mainframe-Docks Breakthrough-Giga Fortress at Docks (it said produced at Docks). Although I do understand Soviet unit's HPs have been nerfed in the video (or ar they?), I still hope that it won't take out 2 Dreadnoughts and a Shipyard in one shot.

I think that's for demonstration purposes only FCS.
EDIT: My mistake, I was also looking at the LPTPW.

Yeah Uprising is Single only.
To construct Giga fortress you need to use a Nanocore from the docks. And as for the video it's not nerfed it's just for demonstration purposes as Scope said.

I want to find out more about the steel ronin, those are looking like some of the coolest units. I will probably never use the giga foretress. Its kinda like the Czar and Tempest in Supreme Commander, it has a niche, but its one people really don't need and its most likely going to be a "glass frisbee" in air mode.
