In terms of an all-purpose weapon, yes, the German 88 is one of my favorite. It was mounted on the Tiger and its beefier brother, the King Tiger, and it also threw flak at aircraft as an anti-air gun. It was one of the most famous and feared weapons.

Yes, the German 88mm FLAK 37, great gun in all respects, but put on one of the worst tanks IMO. the tank was too imobile and couldn't even go over some bridges because of weight. That's why i still prefer the T-34/85 and the German Panther over the Tiger and it's varients.

there are multiple version of the PPsH....so i think he though about the last version which was improved (more accuracy and single shot mode)

That's a PPs-42, the PPs-43 is just an upgraded version.

Standard PPSh-41 using 35 round mags as opposed to the drum. As I have said in my spotlight topic, the PPSh can accept alot of different types of magazines.

Well of course, but the very first model was not known as the PPSh-41 either. And there is no such thing as an identification as PPSh-42. The ones that started taking other mags are simply minor design modifications introduced during production, and are not really worthy of separate ID.

Okay, now can we all just end this fuss, and agree that there were other varients (or sub-varients) of the PPSH-41/PPsh in general and that a PPs-42 exists?

There wer other variants, but these were minor production modifications not worthy of a separate designation, and yes the PPS-42 did exist, but there really is not much difference between it and the PPS-43.

Not being mean, but I don't see why people liked the grease gun so much. It was a cheesy old gun that looked like it was gonna fall apart when you were shooting it. You'd be lucky not to have it blow up in your face from it's poor design. People in jail can make better guns than that, or at least I think so. I think the best tanker gun was the M1 Garand shortie.

The Mp-40 ( or whatever it was called ) was a pretty good SMG. My favorite rifle would have to be the M1 Garand, Mosin Nagants coming second.

Agreed, the Grease Gun was a piece of crap. It's easily manufactured and somewhat more rugged in adverse conditions than the Thompson, but it pales in comparison to other weapons such as the Suomi.

The MP-40? Still crap. It's more easily mass produceable than its previous version, but still costs much more than many other SMGs, and not as capable.

I would agree with the Garand, but as bolt-action rifle, I'd go for the SMLE. This is a rifle that had more bullets in its clip than the Garand, in experienced hands can exceed the rate of fire on a Garand, and it was damn well good enough to serve the British Empire for over 70 years.

Didn't I tell you guys to stop posting what the weapons could do in this thread and do it in another thread? Why the F**K can't you listen? I have asked nicely, and I am tired of people not listening and now I am TELLING you to stop and post your FAVORITE weapons of WWII. I don't care if they were the worst or the best weapons, and I certainly don't care what their strenghts and weaknesses were. If you've already posted your favorites, fine, don't post in here UNLESS you want to add to your list. Make ANOTHER topic if you wish to carry on a discussion about a particular weapon, but DO NOT post it in here.
