Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Comp...

Stop making it seem as if I don't know what I like Chryos, or that I think things look good when they're not (which I assume was the point of the MP5 post).
I never once said I thought the animations were overly amazing. but I also consider that they fit real well into the chaotic game play that is the Battlefield Franchise
which I know and love. when I played BC1 I thought they were entirely too wobbly but when I got into hectic combat they in a sense...made the game play a lot more enjoyable.
And really I can see why the Devs did it, Animations often fit directly into the game play the devs chose for the game. In my opinion the reason CoDs animations
really fit in because they didn't overly distract you and they also helped you "keep your cool". Simply because they weren't over exaggerated and made you feel
like a movie star. and yes I'm going there. Since the Campaign for CODMW2 seems like a bad action movie and the multiplayer also plays out as such.
In my opinion BC2/BC1 have these animations because they are pretty much thinking of how your average player imagines combat. It may not be true
to real combat but it does appeal. When everythings exploding and the simulatory animations are wobbling your camera everywhere it generally causes
the player to get excited. (Myself included, I must admit I'm a sucker for good FP animations like CoDs or Mirrors edge/Bad Company)
But really, why are you nit picking so much. The gameplay for the game is absolutely fantastic (seeing as how it looks to play out as a better version of BC1).
At least you don't have Harriers or AC-130s forcing you to get raped in a dark alley.

opinions flying everywhere.
's all up to the good 'ol taste i guess.
now imagine you'd have some sort of option to choose between smooth and stocky animations, sort of like how you choose to have your view inverted. everybody happy
@chyros: i think the point you're tying to make is that people are generally too easily satisfied (mw2 is basically a shinier version of mw1 yet half the world bought it, knowing that it WAS almost the exact same thing. talk about short-term memory). one advantage though: nitpickers like you and me will always see mistakes that no one else sees

I also think the animations appear odd. Given that I've played MW so much now they seem rather strange, as Chyros says, almost robotic.
However, this is not going to stop me buying it, enjoying it and raping the fuck out of you all with it

Indeed, it would certainly be interesting

Chyros

^ Yeah, I saw that - a pre-order & beta strategy.
Also, can any of you more experienced fellas confirm that it's true (or better yet - that it's not) the following:
saus: http://en.wikipedia....d_Bad_Company_2
which sounds like complete and utter bullshit but something I'd like to have out of the way regardless

Limited edition
Currently, a limited edition version of the game is being sold online for pre-order at the same price as the non-limited version. With it comes multiples bonuses, including a radar on tanks that can see enemies even when they are hidden, extra armor for tanks, and a coaxial gun for the driver of the tank. There will also be three extra infantry weapons that come with it: the M1 Thompson, the Colt M1911, a tracer dart gun, and the AKS-74.

So does anyone who doesn't have the lim edition a chance against what seems to be really overpowered bullshit?

How can you tell it is going to be tho?
People with the gold edition in BC1 unlocked a whole load of guns that you can get when you reach max level, didnt change a thing balance-wise

EDIT: Nevermind, you can unlock all the other stuff without the limited edition, you just don't start out with it.

Different guns =/= Radar and extra armor. More guns is variety, Radar and Armor is just more power to the people, and I'm going to have to agree it sounds OP. The weapons don't seem like a big deal, but the others do...
That's like saying "pre-order MW2 and get Juggernaut freely included on all your classes!" >.>

You will eventually unlock all that stuff. Just with the special edition you get it earlier.
Those vehicle unlocks dont sound like they will help much more (not against me anyway, i eat tank whores for breakfast

The improved armour shouldnt be that much of a bother, weak spots should be the same, the treads etc. (unless they make it so it takes more than one C4 to destroy it, then Ill be pissed)
Supreme vehicle firepower isnt much of a change, its adding an anti-inf gun that the tank driver can use, and if you were any gd with tanks you can just switch to the 50cal on top of the tank.
The vehicle motion sensor is something that came with tanks anyway in the first one, so theyve basically removed it and turned it into an upgrade

Tracer dart pistol is one of the most useless piles of shit ever (unless they improved it so it has no delay in hitting the target and doesnt have a range of about a metre), it just about works with tanks, tho you are better off aiming for weakspots instead (tho you see in the vids they attach it to helis, which is a one in a million chance as theyre usually miles above you, not near the ground)
M1A1 Submachine Gun rapes in 1943 and I imagine it will rape just as much as the vanilla sub machineguns anyway
If the M1911 Pistol is anything like it was in 1943, it should be pretty powerful (as pistols were in BC1) but nothing OP
Btw those vehicle perks are exactly that, you choose one and when you use that vehicle it gives you that perk. They dont stack up or anything
So there is my rundown on that!

Well as long as you unlock all of it eventually it shouldn't be much of a problem. I hate pre-order advantage bullshit though, I can't stand extortion like that.

The Vehicle upgrades will stack if I had adv. armor and you had Radar. if we were in the same vehicle they'd stack. pretty nifty. so if you're not a BF veteran chryos you'll probably hate how they're giving BF veterans all the teamwork unlocks from the get go.

Battlefield veterans is a site where you enter in previous battlefield games you've owned, and you get a level next to your name depending on how many you've owned before. In the first BC the only way to unlock the f2000 was to have the battlefield veterans thingy.
Im glad theyve done that, I was wondering what they were going to do with the battlefield veterans this time around.

Heh, they want to keep away newcomers to the series or something?
Oh well, if the game is good enough, that shouldn't matter too much.

Hardly, its something everyone will unlock eventually. Its more a treat for loyal fans rather than punishing those who havent played a battlefield game.
Wizard
24 Jan 2010
On that point I disagree. What would be a better idea to assist loyal fans is to give them a discount on the game or a refund via the vets site. If you've bought more than one of the BF games before you've already spent money for the company so you should get it slightly cheaper etc. Rather than give out additional 'perks' that 'may' be unfair to others at the start of the game. It would be like IW handing out the tac knife attachment for those who had all of the CoD series. No one actually knows until the game is live whether those particular perks will be beneficial or balanced or not.
Chyros
24 Jan 2010
For obvious reasons though, a price decrease for the public most willing to pay ANY price for the game is out of the question in practice

They locked all the stuff like that in previous games(You obv unlocked it later). It didn't keep new people away then I doubt it will now. You seem pretty open to poke jabs at the game but you've never actually tried a Battlefield game previously.

I think you're being rather defensive here towards people who obviously have a critical eye for things. Just because there are some people here who like MW doesn't mean they irrationally hate BF. I, personally, would be critical of the same type of thing if IW did it. "Join our club we'll give you free shitz" is a shoddy way of doing things imo. Kalo, perhaps you should just accept that people have a different opinion on this game than you.
