Negative. When I look at RE5's zombies, the first thing I see is zombies, not black people. However, when I look at WaW's zombies, the first thing I see is a fucking SS uniform and a swastika brassard. It may have been meant as a 'hilarious' spoof on 50's pop culture but guess what? People have different definitions of the word 'hilarious'. You see, I'm probably among the top 5 most cynical members of this forum, meaning there's a lot of questionable stuff I can still chuckle about but even I am inclined to call this tasteless because stuff like this simply isn't necessary, especially because we're still talking about a game. Most people, especially of the older generations, are entirely unable to see games as an art form, as a method to convey a message, satire etc. If they look at the Nazi zombies, they don't see 50's pop culture, they see a desecration of history. I bet even ALLIED WW2 veterans/people who lived back then wouldn't like this and they probably had more reasons to hate and demonise the Nazis than anyone of us today. Plus, I'm too pessimistic about the mental ability of MANY gamers to actually SEE the joke. We might end up with an entire generation thinking 'Durrr, shootin' Nazis in the face is HILARIOUS!'. Saying 'But it's only a joke' isn't enough of an excuse for certain things. By that logic, adding 'just kidding' or 'no offence' to a phrase like 'I think you (rhetorical) are a stupid tosser and I hope you die in the most beastly way imaginable' will automatically revert all the negative consequences. We're going in circles with this, though. Let's just stick to MW2 in this topic. We've stated our opinions regarding the zombies, now let's leave it at that.
