Mmm... But this being a inferior system for PC games overall, I can see where they are coming from.
If something works on Console, it doesn't mean it will work on PC.
I have played many P2P mutiplayers games, the only one did OK was RTS, PC FPS certainly won't work.

One particularly bad point I picked out of 402's response is that IWNET will not just dump you into a game with players of comparable RANK, but actually of comparable SKILL. That gives me some pretty damn bad goosebumps. Most players that get scores comparable to mine are lamers, bunnyhoppers or both.
Concluding, I found that I have the following thoughts on the MW2 multiplayer.
1) private games will remain relatively unchanged. FS will be able to have a MW2 event in all probability, and it won't be very different from what we've done so far.
2) online games will suck a lot more than they did before. No choice + worse connection = LAME .
From what it would seem, I'd say it is not worth buying MW2 for online playing if you don't have a set of friends you can play with. Though private matches will probably be as epic as they ever were, I suspect you don't want to touch the general online option even with a VERY long stick.

^ This with fucking huge brass knobs on. When Relic released DoW2 they fucked up the match making system so badly the game nearly died on its arse in the first two months. The trueskill system was so bad most players nearly deserted it. How do IW think they can tell me who I am best to play against?

And don't forget that it may dump you on a match where the host has something like a wall hack, aimbot, or whatever (because we all know people are going to find ways to use them, even condoms don't guarantee 100% protection).

Interview with Fourzerotwo about a whole bunch of multiplayer features (no, not IWNET). Callsigns, deathstreaks, teamplay, types of play, etc. are addressed among others.

Apparently something I just noticed from that interview is the UAV is now a plane that is actually flying around on and can be shot down with an AT-4.
Good to know.

It's obvious that IW are trying to promote the rocket launcher as well as make the UAV less powerful. It was already the most powerful killstreak in CoD 4, and with Hardline it could make some crazy stuff. I must say that some of their balance decisions are very appealing so far.

Yeah DP.
MW2 system specs for the PC have been released. Yes these are official.
They're quite low, fortunately - I don't expect these specs to be much of a problem for anyone would could play CoD 4

Still high for my PC D: My PC has really good hardwares, but my graphic card sucks; ATI Raedon 1250X, which doesn't seem to be supported by ANY game, and lags on ANY non-2D game published after 2002.

All PC versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be powered by Steamworks, providing gamers with auto-updating, anti-cheat technology, Steam Achievements, and the recently introduced Steam Cloud.
Even if you get the disk version you have to run it though steam. Thats pretty big news.

Tbh although I knew that the specs wouldn't be that high, I was kinda hoping they'd have given the engine a bit more grunt
Oh well, here's to MMPFPS instead.

Wrong
An (dis)advantage depending on how you see Steam. Kind of a disadvantage on my crap connection

P.s. I agree the graphics could have been more polished on High, but the consoles do have their limitations it seems. That and Steam Cloud sounds nice

That steam thing kinda sucks. I mostly play CoD4 in LAN at school with my classmates and we don't have access to internet there.

it still looks like a expansion pack for MW1
This must be the thing to say for any sequel.
The only reason I want this game is for the Campaign, I don't dig stick everyone in a small cage and let them duke it out (Which is why I'm an avid Battlefield fan).
Even then I have a 75% chance of NOT getting it simply because if I did wanna do MP it'd be a colossal shitfest all the way around.

Wasn't that just the one maps from MW1? Why haven't they improved the AC130 crews voices. The whole "Get that guy" thing was f'ing annoying the first time around tbh, now it'll drive me insane.
Tbh that particular game mode just seems like a rather weak bolt-on novelty, so meh from me.
