What if his ISP has a firewall set up? As well as his router?

isnt the same. its not only about stuff getting in (as we know that cant be held of 100%), its more about stuff not getting out...
(like bot communication, updates, trojan data upload ect)
that can about only be blocked from the machine, since thereĀ“s the only place it could look unusual.
(you know when taskman.exe wants to connect to the internet... XD)

also, his router wont have an AV build in either... >_>

I agree with the 2 posters above me.

I still stand by the theory that changing your password can solve this.

It does.

The account of a girl I know was sending me bad links. After I advised her to change her password it stopped. I don't think that is a coincidence.

I always pictured this thing not so much as a virus, but a zombie machine logging onto your account and doing the stuff. Don't think that's too far from the truth.

it seems to be back again, although I haven't clicked on anything. I'm going to change my password for my account as if they have my password logged, doing another Hijackthislog won't do any good.

I got a message from you this morning, and I just got another one from Chyros. It appears to be the same one, since they were both about losing weight, with identical messages (except the amount of weight lost had changed)...

This is spreading like wildfire at the moment guys - I'd had about 5 different people (not on the forum) message me in the last 5 minutes with various weight-loss schemes. Not looking good for MSN at the moment.

I suspect a dataminer logging passwords from users that's working through a unprotected backdoor in the new MSN version since the new features and functions probably means Microsoft has once again left a million back-doors open. I've already changed my password, hoping that it will fix things.

Yeah you did nudge me several hours ago. Unblocking now.

I noticed that those who were infected only show the e-mail address instead of display name in the convo window.

I have a sneaky suspicion that MSN virus thing is still on my computer, can anyone confirm or deny my suspicion?
