Here's his profile. Whatever you do, don't open the link in his message!

Made the mistake of clicking on it already. Sad part is, I know better, but click on it by accident trying to close an IM window.

When I clicked on it by accident, I got a bunch of pop up ads. I really didn't pay attention to what they were.

Knew this was coming since the attacks on Derelict and Slipstream,
Sadly it could not be stopped in time. =/

Thanks for reporting this, I have suspended his account, so hopefully we shouldn't be getting any more server errors. I would advise not clicking on any links he/it may have sent you.

I got one from him too, just today. Either he re-regged, or there's one hell of a command delay.

Could you check the send time and see whether it was after Bob's post? If so, we have a problem; if not, we should be OK.

I clicked on it, but it didn't load apparently. Got Adblock running, I guess. Reminds me, I better enable NoScript.

Thanks for the warning guys, its now been banned too. Unfortunately this will keep happening until we get a software update. We don't want to limit the number of PMs members can send because we know it would be an unpopular measure. You can use the ignore function if one is targeting you.

The problem isn't the annoyance to us, the problem is it practically DOS's the server.

Spam Message via PM by "angelikzusa"

DigitalZone Board has been a victim of a mass spam message for the second time today. Over 38.000 PMs and the resulting auto e-mail notifications have been sent. The spammer "angelikzusa" a.k.a "mignulikz" or "nuzgirba" has been banned from the forum. Also, we have mass-deleted all those PMs.

Additionally, his IPs have been banned and are now public:
CODE
87.118.86.96
87.118.87.96

His IP range has also been banned:
CODE
87.118.8

The PM System has been disabled for Validating & Trial Members to make sure this does not happen again. All members need to have at least 15 posts to gain access to the PM system.

We apologize for the inconvenience!

Plain IP banning will not help at all. Some of my colleges at school have programms to change an IP at will. Same goes for the conventional 'what letters shows the picture' question, where the programm identifies the letters. The (russian) developers made an update recently for the newer picture generating algorythems. So yeah, it will only help if people keep telling the administration about suspicious users to ban them.

I got the same PM from that person, and deleted it. I knew right away it wasn't legit, especially when I hovered over the link.

We've installed a patch from IP which puts a flood control limit on PMs. That should solve PM spam in the future.

Agree with TPAM. If you're hoping for a quick reply to something then you'll be waiting a bit.

1 every minute?
