Oh god. I can only imagine in 20 years, there will not only be one big government run healthcare plan, but government internet! I live over in the states, I don't know about the other guys.

What's with AOL?

Many countries around the world have some pretty good governement-run healthcare systems but this isn't exactly the palce for it now. As for a government-run ISP, yes that would suck. A LOT.

We have several ISPs that suck big time, but worst being the Amis Telekom and T-Scum (T-Com). First ones are ran by kids who want to get some money fast selling you outdated and infected lollipops, and second one is having maintenance just when most people are on internet or whole connection goes fuck hell when rain falls. Yep, that's Croatia.

COMCASTIC!

Comrade would say that from time to time. His "luck" with Comcast wasn't the best. His connection would be pretty well knackered at times and he'd have to have a tech priest....Comcast technician come over.

I'm also a Comcast user and the only problem I've ever had was with our cable modem. Apparently the silly things are only supposed to last a couple years (I think something on the order of 5 years). We had ours for 8 when it finally gave out. That's really the only spotty service we've ever had, and it wasn't Comcast's fault to be honest (though I guess you could blame them for having modems that aren't designed to last long). Never had another ISP other than Comcast, so I can't really say anything bad about other ISP's. I will say that cable is so much better than DSL though.

Virgin Media can just GTFO.
Slow down, tracking your stuff, cost alot for a pretty small speed. (Ive been on upto 250kbps for far too long) RETARDED FUCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Shit, dude, I feel bad for you! Get Comcast before it's too late!

I cant, im stuck on their bloody cable. Costs loads to get ADSL installed *tear*

Couldn't disagree less with Pav3d here tbh. I have been on Virgin for years now, back when they were Telewest/Blueyonder. The only issue I have ever had was with a Linksys router I bought that caused a lot of DNS shifting, stopped using it and now its pretty damn good. I never have a ping larger than 40 on pretty much any server. However I realize that with most ISP in the UK it's situational. Pav3d is just unlucky tbh.

Now moving on to why I've brought this up (and Pav3d don't read this if I were you), I've just upgraded from my already decent 20mb line that cost me only £10 a month anyway, to a 50mb line that is only costing me £22.50 a month, plus a completely new installation, new modem and free router that is promised not to DNS shift.

Good Times!!!

Not everybody lives in the States General Wesley 8| Also I've heard mixed things about Comcast but that it is still better than Verizon and Sprint, No idea about Road Runner.

Knowing that there is technically only one really shitty ISP here in Lebanon, I'll pass mine off as worst 8|

Yea, there is only a couple in my country aswell, I think. But I can't decide which one is worse than other, still there is no choice but to ' obey ' if I want to use internetz :sly:

Thought I'd update you all on install of the new service from Virgin

That's an MP3 in 1 sec, Vid Clip [35mb] in 5 secs and an 800mb movie in 2 mins. Not bad for the Uk.

I've had fibreoptic cabling since I moved into this place, well over a year ago. They just had to update my antiquated modem and router. A month my bill is about £60 but that includes 2 phone lines and a pointless TV package as I have Sky+ HD.

Lol yeah, I remember when the only ISP you could have in this country was dial-up AOL. Thank God for progress (in some places at least).

My upload speed is crazy, with an average (for cable) download speed.

It's is cracy how you have that upload speed. I was told by the engineer who brought the new modem/router for the service that Virgin are working on how to improve the upload speed. Nooka, yours is very impressive by English standards anyway.
