Right so I think we all can agree As easy hamachi is, it sucks. So in my hunt for alternatives I came across this.

Leaf I downloaded it looked around It seems pretty easy to set up You simply just make an account. Then you can add people like friends to your list. It even has a function literally called Gaming Network And best of all... No Size limits! You only need one place. Already sounds better? Well I suggest we try Leaf Who knows, it might just be better.

Anyone want to test Leaf?

*Moves to computing discussion*

Looks interesting, this might be worth looking into as an alternative. If its a direct connection then this eliminates the biggest problem we have when we use hamachi.

According to there FAQ It is Direct Connect!

Do I really have a direct connection?
Yes, our patent pending solution let's you form a direct peer-to-peer TCP connection with every member of your network. There is no servers proxing traffic between you and your members, you own the connection.

My personal expierience with Leaf has been exceedingly good. In a stress test me and Numbers conducted, 20 mobs built and firing did not slow unit response time at all. This is something we all need to switch to now.

Fubu, this isn't like the other alternatives we've looked into. It took me and number around 10 minutes to figure out how to connect with each other and the results were beyond expectations. A simple guide with no more than FIVE steps can guide every community member to a superior alternative in no time at all.

Just had a game of SHW with Zhao, the epic command delay seems to have dropped a bit. Need to test with alot more players tho.

Also need to try BF2 on this...

How to remove the beep from leaf chat

Go to control panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Sounds.

Locate Critical Beep in the list. Change the audio to none

Yeah thats almost the same as just saying "turn the sound off" :P Apart from that its awesome. I wish this came about during the massively active SHW times, coz this was the holy grail, one network for everyone.

I know that some of you have been a little upset about your real name being portrayed. Here is how to fix it. Go here
http://www.leafnetworks.net/

In a blue box you will see a login thingy enter your username and password. You log in

Then you go back to that blue box and view your profile!
Then you click on Edit Account Information

Then just change the first and last name and save. All fix'd

Nice topic here Numbers, I just installed Leaf nicely (disabled Hamachi, set up a Leaf Account, connected to Leaf). :P

As for networks everyone, Numbers made a universal network that everyone can join, just send Numbers a PM requesting to be invited to Shockwave Network.

Afterwards, you must enable VPN to play Shockwave... an easy thing to do.

I can hardly go backwards from Hamachi, so I'll definitely pick this up ASAP.
