Fallout Studios Game Servers
The success of the game days have been rather hampered by the fact that locating a server has been problematic. Well not anymore. The FS game servers for TF2 and BFBC2 have been sourced for the enjoyment of our members and to make your community gaming experience easier. Both of the servers are run by Gameservers.com, one of the largest providers of dedicated gaming servers in the world, and available now for members use.
In order to access these servers please follow the below instructions:
Team Fortress 2: Find Server > Favorites > Search for IP8.2.122.82:27015 95.211.15.78:27015 > add to your favorites > go stab somebody
Battlefield Bad Company 2: Use the following server name or IP details to search using your server browser.

Or alternatively add one of the four server admins as a friend ingame to locate our server.
These servers have been acquired to allow FS members the opportunity to play together but they are public servers and we are more than happy to allow public players to use them so long as they do not take up the place of a member wishing to play. For any issues relating to non-members using the servers, please contact a game admin via PM, MSN or Steam.
Game admins/mods :
All FS Administrators have access rights to remove players from either server, but if one is not available you may contact the following game mods:
TF2
The Dr.
Raptor
Battlefield Bad Cmpany 2
TheDr.
Kalo
Please remember that our servers are there for your enjoyment, but our community rules also apply.
Now go and have some fun!!

We all owe thanks to Wizard and Dauth for setting these servers up and paying for them... well in, gentlemen.
I'll be watching the pings of the players on the L4D server, just in case it's in our better interest to change locations.

We spent a while trying to sort the locations out - currently they seem to be best placed. If everything goes tits up we need to wait for the one month time (IIRC) before we can switch it around. Frankly, we should be fine with where they are

Actually we can change the server locations within the hour (and even sooner than that iirc), which is why we haven't spent hours and hours testing them internally. The best way to find out how to get the most from this is by opening them up to you guys. It's only through your feedback that we'll locate the most appropriate server. But we can always jump whenever we like.

I blame Dauth for misinformation. However, that is a nice added bonus there

**SERVER UPDATE**
I've [hopefully] actived "alltalk" on the TF2 server. Might take a while to update it. Thanks to {LP}Admiral-(NL) for reminding me to do it.
*thinks about splitting post and making a server announcements thread...*

Is the L4D server campaign only? As it says it has a user capacity of 4 on that sig.

It's only set up like that as L4D is a standard 4 player game. It's an 8 player server.

I'm not really sure what to do with all the numbers on the sig but I must say it looks pretty good, nice work, Wiz ^^ .

On the L4D server I had a constant ping above 180, and my framerate was very poor. Given that I live on the other side of the ocean, however, that may just be how it goes.

The TF2 sever is based in the USA and i get 100 ping and no lag, seems odd you would do so poorly the other way round.

It doesn't work like that sadly - the US in general accepts incoming connections to the servers better than the UK ones do - no idea as to why, but it works. However, the TF2 server was producing a ping of 200 for me, constant. And the L4D one was varying between 150-500, and was causing lag issues, and skipped/slow frames a lot of the time for some of us. Peculiarly, not for all of us though.

I had a constant ping of 50 or so on the L4D server. It never went above that number. No lag spikes either. The one problem I experienced was when it said *Server connection issues" and I was unable to move for 20seconds or so. However this can also occur on dedicated servers, so its probably just coincidence.

I am not entirely sure what we are going to be able to do about your Ping Ghost. I suspect we'll have to try switching everyonce in a while. That said you had a terrible ping when L4D was on a US server prior to the UK switch. It might be a long haul to find the ideal one. :(

Both the US and UK have too low internet connectivity to make server locations that everyone can successfully connect to with high ping, and US and UK players themselves are of course hindered by their relatively slow connections. I'm not exactly sure what country the L4D servers were in that we used to connect to that had practically everybody (except Ghost
) in the green - maybe Japan (v.i.)? Maybe we ought to do some testing to see what location is the most optimal - since the server's location can apparently be changed at a moment's notice this would definitely pay off in the long run.

EDIT: IIRC one of them was based in France.

Well our options for the L4D server are actually more limited than I had previously thought. I have, however, switched our server location to Amsterdam to see if that improves the overall position.
If you guys can let me know what pings you get.
PS, should take about an hour from this post time.

I'll make sure I give it a try in the new location sometime later today then.

Here is my suggestion for the map list.
Any disagreements for the map list for the TF2 server?
Also can we get the server moved to somewhere closer to Europe as the majority of players are from Europe and some are getting high pings and lag.
Quote
Maps to put in:
Maps not to put in:
- Badlands (CP)
- Badwater Basin (PL)
- Dustbowl (CP)
- Egypt (CP)
- Fastlane(CP)
- Goldrush (PL)
- Granary (CP)
- Gravel Pit (CP)
- Hoodoo (PL)
- Pipeline (PL)
- Well (CP)
Maps not to put in:
- The Arena Maps (People get angry at arena more often)
- The CTF maps (None of the CTF maps are any good, feel free to challenge me on that if you think otherwise)
- Junction (Such a small map, not very popular)
- Steel (People get lost on it and it becomes a tad grindy)
- Hydro (The majority of people dislike the map)
