It's pretty much the same as with "With all due respect.", which usually means "Fuck you.", saying "You're not the best but you're trying." comes across like "You suck."

Then how is it even possible to criticize artwork , Your artwork looks good but that wheel on the left side needs improvement =/= Your artwork sucks

You don't seem to understand..

Its easily possible, theres nothing wrong with saying something needs improvement and pointing out how to improve it. Thats what constructive criticism is, what you said was not really criticism and it certainly wasn't constructive.

For example, I can say one of failures FX needs improvement, then tell him how to improve it without saying " Its not the best FX, but at least your trying "

Why don't you people stop bickering over something completely stupid and just accept what he MEANT, as he already explained.

And @ Failure, all modders have that lack of inspiration time, good luck with whatever takes your time ;)

Also, it means a lot to the community(especially aspiring modders, that don't know how to do most stuff) that you are making your great particles public :confused: Especially since some people(cough*me*cough) can't make a particle for beans :xD:

Because despite what he may have meant, thats not what he said. Now we have told him how it came across in future he hopefully won't post something like that again. You see we're actually helping him so that his intentions are not misunderstood in the future. If we had not brought this up he may have continued to think saying " Your not the best but at least your trying " was in someway motivational, which it isn't.

The laser cannon from WofW would mainly be a different texture, though you could also have a very fast invisible projectile with a particle attached to it. I can't speak for failure, but I'm not taking requests at the moment, should have time over christmas.

Ion thanks for backing me up, I have to admit I'm not the best one out there. As for the cluster of requests, I don't know I thought about getting back to all this ZH stuff.
Absence - as you all know - high school and all this stuff.

Create a model of the spinning beams. The rest is done by ocl, fx and some dummy objects.

That's how I did it, I'm sure there are other ways.

I'm looking for anyone who can create a type of ambient fog or mist that doesn't take up too much processing power and can be emitted by an invisible stationary object.

Ideally, the fog object and the fog particles would emit low beneath trees or along a shoreline much like the fog one would see on a cold morning near the coast or in a forest atmosphere.
