That 'Commando' perk is so fakking overpowered. Stabbing people from ten feet away? LOLWAT

The AK-47 is easily my favorite gun :P

It's absolutely not overpowered. It's very useful, but the perks are very well balanced this time around. Even SitRep is very useful if you have the Pro version.

Then it's incredibly annoying since that the knife kills instantly. Commando should have faster attack speed instead of range. Throwing knives I can understand, but it's plain ridiculous that it increases stabbing range for a melee attack. It's almost annoying as martyrdom.

What are you talking about, you can fire three or four bullets in the melee delay time between pressing the melee button and it hitting the enemy :P . At melee range, EVERY weapon can kill in this amount of time.

Point is you have to aim at the enemy and hit him. Skilled knife runners easily rank up many many kills because their opponents cannot kill them fast enough. Skilled players may not fall for the trick but being backstabbed by a commando melee attack is ever so frustrating and everyone probably falls for it once.

How is it more frustrating than getting shot in the back though? :P

The annoying thing about Commando is that your opponent suddenly teleports 5 meters and stabs you. You can shoot him but it's very difficult. It's probably not that overpowered but it's just unrealistic and stupid. There is no point in using Ninja-Pro to be a silent knifer because you can just run around at high speed and knife someone from 5 meters away.

If/when I finally get this game, I so have to try this (assuming it hasn't been changed/removed), because it sounds like it gives you the kind of cheap thrill akin to using the Huntsman in TF2.

The flying around you're referring to is a bug.

Actually I am not so sure the CP thing is a bug. On the basis that IW nerfed Lighweight instead of the CP it tends to suggest they planned it OR they are just monumental asshats who haven't figured out how annoying it is.

I am favouring the later atm.

CP isnt bugged...its just a design issue that can be (or more like "is being") exploited.

UMP45 is making the rounds for me atm, got red tiger yesterday, I want that fall skin damnit :)

The stopping power perk doesnt seem that bad this time round, I do well either with or without it, plus there are better perks to use.

Are you playing Hardcore? Cause in softcore imho there is no red perk that is even slightly as good as stopping power. (If you play normal ofc, If you wanna be an annoying bastard use lightweight and go knifing or danger close and go tubing - and probably cold-blooded for an AA class)

Oh I don't agree with that. This time around they have actually made tier 2 perks very useful. Cold Blooded for instance is VERY useful and in a game with lots of killstreaks it can be the thing that stops the nuke.

I agree with Wiz. Also, Lightweight is VERY useful on certain types of classes like shield, knife, shotgun and SMG classes, to all of which Lightweight is a huge advantage (EDIT: actually it's pretty mandatory). In addition, Hardline is pretty monstrous if you slap a few low-tier killstreaks on. Not hard to get four or more helis this way (in addition to shitloads of missiles and airstrikes). Even Danger Close is very useful if you go explosives since the amount that it increases fatal AoE of explosives by is pretty staggering.

In fast-paced gamemodes its different ofcourse. In HQ, CTF or SnD you are most likely not going to have a killstreak above 5 anyway (unless you are camping the whole match) but even then, the damage I lose when using Hardliner is worse than the one kill I need less for killstreaks.
And you can't capture a flag without lightweight and marathon (unless your enemys are noobs).
But I mostly play Ground-War because it's the only mode that doesn't need any teamplay, strategy or tactics, because 80% of players play to level up and don't try to win the round anyway.

My ranking of perks:

1 / BLUE:
1. Scavenger (Umlimited ammo and nades - awesome for killstreaks)
1. Bling (essential for a few weapons)
1. Marathon (essential for shotgun, knife or MP classes)
1. Faster Reload (good if you don't need any of the above or for nade-spam)
5. One man army (only for cheating)
2 / RED:
1. Stopping Power
1. Lightweight - for knifer
1. Danger Close - for nade-launcher
4. Hardliner - not really needed imho, doesn't compensate the loss of DPS or Speed
4. Cold-Blooded - same as above, would be good in teamplay which sadly doesn't exist
3 / YELLOW:
1. Steady aim - for everything but M-16
2. Commando - essential for knifer
3. Ninja - quite good in FFA
4. SitRep - would be good in teamplay...
5. Scrambler - It actually warns me about an enemy I wouldn't have spotted..

They should have replaced Stopping Power with something else.

My thoughts on MW2:
It's a very fun game, and a first class FPS. Sadly, I often get slaughtered by 14-year olds with no life who are already at 10th prestige. And it is true, dual Winchester 1887 guy is a dog rapist. Weird how the most powerful gun is a century-old shotgun, go figure.

I wish they’d quit trying to balance weapons out. Just make ‘em perform as real to life as they can and let the chips fall where they may.

Anybody who says that MW:2 is “ultra realistic” needs to be smacked upside the head. Last time I looked, there weren’t a lot of teleporting ninjas running like Olympic sprinters with a 100 year old ten-gauge in each hand on the modern battlefield.

Single player was fun, but the story line was utterly retarded. I haven't played Special Ops too much, sounds like I've been missing out.

I don't normally take much of a shine to first person shooters, but MW2 was different for me. The campaign is amazing, although, despite having an awesome storyline, it seemed a bit short to me. The multiplayer is awesome on PC, although setting up a game can be a bit of a task.

Overall, I think the game has that element of fun and teamwork, which not many games nowadays do. I haven't played any of the other Call of Duty games, apart from at friends' houses, but after playing MW2, I wouldn't mind trying some of the others out.

If I were to give the game a rating out of 10, I would give it a 9 - superb gameplay and (in my opinion) fairly decent graphics. No complaints from me.
