Easily the best game of the year, and likely all time. The pacing is perfect and complimented well by Hans Zimmer's fantastic soundtrack. The attention to detail is second to none, I can't say enough good things about this game.

Story wise I was a bit confused as to why

Wait a minute... Hans Zimmer, the god of soundtracks, did the music for MW2?

There are long games which are just as good, but they are much rarer nowadays.

I don't know just how awesome it is, but comparing it to long games which I imagine are just as awesome - FO3, Dragonage, HL2 - Which proves games can be long but retain their excitement.

I've read some reviews of MW2 for the PC, the critic reviews have been favorable, but its a different story from user ratings. The lack of dedicated servers has really ruined the experience for many.

Reviews and imagination, Yay. If you are done crapping on a game you have never played I would like to get back on topic. Modern Warfare 2 impressions.

I'm not crapping on it, I just expect more than a 6-8 hour campaign for £40 / £35.

Quality over quantity.

Yes! and a fine job at that. In a interview at Kotaku he stated that game technology has reached a point that he can support. Expect him to be scoring other AAA games in the future.

Would explain why you're so in love with it then Nem, you little soundtrack whore you!

I honestly think that the game has been overhyped. It's undoubtedly good, and a great experience from what limited gameplay I have seen. However, the price over here is absurd, and that alone is enough to put me off it for now.

Yeah, no. I'm waiting for a price drop or at least until they change the absolutely awful situation with MP. Until then, no sell.

I don't know, the commercial DID have Eminem's "Till I collapse" as the background song...
And I'll probably buy it just because Hans Zimmer supports it.

I'll let you know after 12 tonight when it's released via Steam and I've let Chyros kill me about 40 times (that is if we can find a way to actually get a game going :D ). I haven't bought it because of the hype, I've bought it because MW was an excellent game with a thoroughly enjoyable MP experience, once in game. Servers or no I doubt that has changed.

I'll report back when I can.

I haven't really planned on buying it, as I thought it was a bit over-hyped. I may change my mind though :D

just cause its over-hyped doesnt mean its bad, i mean it is pretty much a complete improvement on 4, and i consider 4 to be one of the best games ever.

There are reasons for this. MW was, imo and clearly lots of others, one of the best FPS games around. I've not actually heard a negative comment, a genuinely negative comment btw, about the actual gameplay yet. Hype is annoying, but sometimes it's justified.

True. Overhyped as it may be, I expect the single player experience to be as thoroughly cinematic and involving as I have come to expect from the CoD series. Tbh I'll wait till it's cheaper though as I won't buy the game when I'll only want SP.

Yeah I'll pass too. Also I don't even have the first Modern Warfare game yet. I probably should get it.

If you love FPS games and if you not played MW then I will say what Wizard said : Oh wow :pimp:

Edit : Its completed in 4.5 hours , yes it was short but it was one of the best gaming experiences I had and one with best storytelling :D

I don't exactly have the greatest income you know. I can't buy every new game that comes out, I generally have to wait till they drop in price.

Edit: And actually, I'll probably have it soon since a friend of mine ordered it on steam and gifted it to me, but is suffering from some form of issue with the payment.
