Admiral showed me an article about how hackers managed to put in dedicated server support for MW2, btw. I don't have the article anymore but I'm not surprised really.

As much as I hate even talking about this tripe, here you go. It even comes with the LOLServers YouTube video. Too bad you can cheat as well, here's to hope for high morality in twelve year olds.

God Damn please stop this bull* :) Game is patriotic because that what happens in war, thats what they teach you in the army other than using a weapon and walking properly, aslong as militaries exists so will be patriotism, thats the reality, if there is patriotism in the war in MW2, thats shows its realistic.

Oh yes, and one thing I forgot to mention: the campaign is so patriotic it's somewhat ridiculous at some points :) .

That's a disappointment. In the first game even while playing the Americans it's not really drenched in patriotism... I liked it that way.
The SAS missions were more fun though to be honest.
To be completely fair, the last few missions it's not as bad. But some in the beginning were kind of painful :sly: .

Maybe I was to busy dying all the time but I'd have thought that there'd be MOAR patrioticism tbh, especially in something like Whiskey Hotel.

Frankly I think that they made it that way deliberately so as to charactise Shephard and explain the

, but maybe that is just me.

Why? Even now it's easily the most patriotic in the whole series. The quotes they display when you're dead are also a lot more patriotic than before btw.

yes, multiple times. it usually takes two missiles but can sometimes only take one when you're close enough to it.

also, i get the feeling the BAR is the new m16 equivalent :) insanely powerful, dead accurate, negligable recoil and still a large magazine. it's the cool guy's weapon :(

The BAR? 8|

Also, I'm more worried about the AK-47 equivalent :) . Though judging from weapon stats the AK-47 is its own replacement :sly: .

EDIT: oh wait, they changed the :???: of course.

I liked how COD4's storyline attempted to be realistic, portraying war in a bit more of a bleak, morally grey sense. I'm not sure if I'm really too keen on this type of pro-yank patriotism being forced down your throat.

The storyline being strong - well, the reviews I've read say its more like an 80s action film with the amount of plot holes, and the people I've asked can definitely vouch for that. There's no doubt that the SP is still fun as hell, so I can't wait to try it out.

Mwoah, tbh I found the plot was quite well done. I guess it depends on your taste but I thought it was done pretty compellingly.

Remember the mission from MW1, where you have to save the Nikolai - he says that invasion begins in 3/6 hours. SAS obviously didn't told that to Marines and they got fucked. So I think that's the point of Sheperd's words...

a stealth invasion from Russian to USA from all directions and go unsee till they are already in the west coast is well done? the apparently lack of any other country in Europe than isn UK or Russia in the storyline? or for that matter, the lack of any allied of USA except UK? the missions may be awesome, but the plot in self is bad, i mean sheperd is angry because he lost many soldiers for the nuke in MW1 and nobody except him apparently cared(ignoring the missions after the nuke in MW1 apparently) and yet his plan is to kill MORE of his soldiers fighting a russian invasion? and he cleary show how he doesnt care about the life of the soldiers under his command? really?

:sly: Just because he cared before doesn't means he will afterwards , nuke in MW1 was a turning point for the Shepherd, as they didn't care about this event, he started to don't care about others after this event, its like a trauma.
And its possible to reach USA without getting over European countries, ever heard of North Pole areas ? :)

Besides that: noone says its %100 realistic after all, and it doesn't need to be real to enjoy a storyline, I personally enjoyed that story pretty much, realistic or not.

Can I just remind peeps that the title of the topic says spoilers. Although I've done it myself, there isn't really a need for huge banks of black highlighting in this topic.

I'm pretty sure he is talking about the SCAR-H. It is without a doubt the best Weapon I've unlocked so far (I'm at lvl43, You get the SCAR very early).
It's also the only gun I managed to unlock every attachment for.
It's deadly at nearly any distance. The only problem is its rather small magazine size (20 IIRC)

EDIT: Of course, the AUG HBAR is also very popular (and powerful) :-)

Haven't unlocked it yet. I'm certainly looking forward to it.

Personally I haven't really seen any weapon that is really over or underpowererd. The balance is actually really good this time, although SMGs are a lot weaker than in MW1.
In MW2 Assault Rifles are the primarily used ones.

Did anyone notice that using Marathon, Lightweight, Ninja and Pistol+Tactical Knife is really effective (and fun ofc :D). You just run around knifing everyone. And it's one of the default classes.

I created a similiar class but with Marathon and Lightweight, when the match starts ( Team one ) I generally be the one who does the first killing and reaching enemy from behind, bad thing is there is noone to back you up quickly if you seperate too much from the team, but its still fun to do |8

Balance is definitely not better than in CoD 4. It's about the same. I.e. bad. Perk balance is a lot better though.

I've gone up against a good variety of weapons so far.
However, the more I experiment with perks the more convinced I am that stopping power is still necessary to maintain a positive K/D ratio....
