Perhaps the "war points" go towards the total number of demomen killed. Then again, it could be something completely different. :P

Although the first poster's slogan is quite catchy and creative, I like the last poster the best. Gives off that Inglorious Basterds aura.

Also, it seems obvious that the war points are just made to increase the number of casualties on the opposite side :P

Damn, the score gap has severely decreased D:
Also, the war points were a bonus to the body count :P

Holy crap.... a mere 14k kills separate Demos and Soldiers. That's way down from the 200k gap there was for a good portion of the week. Anyone else notice that the Soldier weapons update is featured twice on the "newspaper"? Speaking of the Soldier, the Direct Hit looks like it'll have a bit of a scope on it, meaning the Direct Hit will function somewhat like the Sniper's rifle. At least, this is how it appears. Still can't wait to use it.

I'm liking the look of the Demo's achievements though. Shorn Connery. :P Well done VALVe! Also looks like the Demo's Sticky launcher got a new skin.

The solly update is linked twice but each time for a different weapon :D

The rally flag idea seems a bit odd honestly, but I love the equalizer, it seems like it's a good counter-part for the Demo sword :P

It doesn't link to a different weapon for me, curiously enough. 8| |8 I'm sure the rally flag will have its own merit, though as to what, remains to be seen.

This is part of a message some VALVe guy sent to the guy who imagined the Equalizer's concept.

We chose a Pickaxe appearance since we wanted to do something that looked very distinct. It was important that other players realize the danger they were in when a Soldier equipped with the Equalizer approached.

This weapon also has the Soldier's associated kill taunt. When you taunt with the Equalizer he will toss the weapon aside, remove one of his chest grenades, and blow himself and any enemies nearby sky high. (The taunt anim plays at a slow speed like other kill taunts, so it isn't trivial to pull it off. The damage radius is very tight as well.)

I'm liking the Scottish Resistance so far. Overlooking the fact that you can now put down 16 stickies, this really got my attention:

"But hold on, thinking fans—there’s more! The SR lets you detonate specific groups of bombs instead of having to set them off all at once. The SR detonates whichever group of bombs the player is looking at, letting you control which clusters blow, and when. You’ll be able to lay more traps and guard multiple areas at a time."

This is great because this is exactly the kind of issue I had, not being able to cover multiple choke/entrance points. I can definitely see myself using this when defending, though I might be sticking to the vanilla launcher in Arena.

Of course, its spurred on the usual "HURR DURR CAMP MOAR" crowd, but they whine about everything anyway.

I like all of these, reckon that the mini-crit flag may prove to be rather handy, it'll have a pretty similar effect to a Kritkreig, and we all know those things are murderous. The new sticky launcher is something I really want, but that pickaxe is my number one list of things to get, it looks sooo much fun |8

Out, Out, Damn Scot! I am simply loving the Macbeth reference. |8 Looks like there's going to be a lot of Soldier in my future because of this update. Finally, a kill taunt for the Soldier!! A little drastic, but hey, now the Soldier has a kill taunt. Wonder if the Demo will get/has one.

Demo will get one, they have given taunt kills to every class so far (apart from medic).

^Technically the taunt kill is for one weapon, as the Pyro's taunt kill is for weapon #2, it just so happens that it works for either the shotgun or the flare gun (wonder why this is). |8 If the Medic gets a taunt kill, it'll probably happen after the "Meet the Medic" video...whenever that is.

Certainly the Meet the Medic video, as they'd most likely keep the pyro video for when they'll release the engi update |8
