For me, it has to be FLCL. Right after finishing the last episode and end credits, I felt like going to sleep.

That's ... really hard to pin down. I'd think my latest case of anime depression would be the end of the Kara no Kyoukai series.

I've felt sadness, but not to the extent of calling it depression. Could be my short attention span :S

I think it says something if you get depressed from something that isn't even real.

I can't speak from experience as far as anime is concerned, but have you never been moved by a film or novel?

Sure, but depressed? Not a chance. People need to be more careful with their terminology. Sad is not the same as depressed.

being depressed and being sad mean the same thing here, it's not like the OP meant that they were suicidal because of it, pretty clear if you just thought about it

I'm curious why Ion is in here in the first place considering he doesn't even watch anime...

It's not so much of a depression as a "Crash". You sorta get a "High" off watching a series of anime or otherwise (Meaning any sort of TV series) and then when it ends for good, you crash.

This is somewhat eased by ... well watching the series again.

The end of Scrubs season 8 made me sad for about 5 minutes after. Does that count?

I'm personally not seeing how an anime can leave you depressed, unless the ending was depressing.

I've been actively ENRAGED by some bad endings, but that's about it.

End of Evangelion? It was such a sad ending, it made me somewhat depressed after watching that for the first time (which was about 4 or 5 years ago).

Heres a trailer for anybody who's interested, you gotta watch the entire series (24 episodes) before watching this if you want to understand what the heck is happening though:

*EDIT: O.K, thanks Bob*

Season 8 of 24 was pretty subpar, so I wasn't too hung up when it ended.
