Campaign-wise, I think, as many posts mentioned, MW1 still has the greatest, followed by MW2. Sure, you get to drive boats and heli in BO SP, but still doesn't fill as exciting as using an AC130 or Predator.
As for MP, I personally prefer MW2 (due to bad connection on PC), and for some reason, BO's multiplayer just let me down.
IDK, but probably gonna trade this in for another game.

That's a problem specific to the PC version by design.
Console versions are reported to have issues with the matchmaking keeping friends together in the same party.
The PS3 forums on CoD HQ are a good source of information regarding the state of the PS3 version:

According to users there, the PS3 version has issues with the frame rate.

And what happened?
3 Guys (with same clan-tag) found a very cheap way to get money: 2 guys played normally, trying to get kills, while the other one ran around knifing people.
The 3vs1vs1vs1 advantage wasn't really a problem at first, I still got to the final weapons first, but then it started to suck. With the launchers you are really slow and take a long time to reload, and you have absolutely no chance against a knifer with a pistol. By the time you made a kill with a launcher, you get knifed 2 times.
In the end one of them won, me and the other guy got tied at second. The Knifer was last, but if they do this all the time they'll loose 500, but win ~1400 every game, cause it's neary a guaranteed win.
So they managed to kill another part of the game that was acutally fun -.-

Also I'd add 'Private LAN matches' to the (killed)fun list, because the riddicolous hardware requirements make playing on my laptop impossible.
It's not like the game is not fun at all, but there are these small things that partly ruin it.
Sadly in every gamemode in every CoD game so far there was something that killed the fun -.-
And am I the only one who thinks typing in IPs manually would still be more comfortable than BO's server browser?

I have no idea on the network fixes, but at least no more crazy-crate-rolling, and sniper rifles can actually kill with a silencer.

If you go through with something like this you are blurring the lines between having fun, and doing chores imo.

Although at least grinding in Call of Duty takes a bit of consciousness and skill, unlike many MMOs

To be fair, the game wasn't actually faulty, you just didn't like it. Does that mean one can do that with any other game purchase they regretted?

I experience random three second long freezes, random crashes, and then there was the stutter lag when the game first came out. I tried to look past it and play the game, but the lag and freezes make playing it feel like hard work.
Faulty by definition:
not working or made correctly; having defects
It is the defects in the game that make it unplayable and thus faulty.
What do you class it?

I've bought plenty of games that I didn't like before and kept them because they worked.
