That's obviously a given, but I've always been partial to having less administrators than moderators.
I don't see a point in having moderators at all if they're outnumbered by superiors (unless they are specialised, like the old forum moos).

They are specialised. They are forum moderators. They have no access priviledges beyond what a regular blue member sees and they are there to assist the Admins in the moderation function, providing timezone cover and leaving the admins free(ish) to do other admin stuff. Although, I will agree that the moderation role in and of itself is almost redundant these days as there is little to no moderating to do anymore. Whether there is a need for 5 or 50 staff is pretty much irrelevant for this topic anyway.
