In some cases it's almost cruel, especially if your first kill is a tier 10 tank.

Edit: Just got the S-70 for the IS-4. :stickattack: One shot does dirty things to KV-3's. :xD:

Once again I got spotted while hidden, and was near death as a result. I'm positive people are cheating in this game.

Edit: Finally got the M4 Sherman.

The M3, but I got rid of it after I unlocked the M4 finally.

The game's spotting mechanics are busted pretty thoroughly. Just have a look on the WoT forums and you'll see that the issue is known, and apparently, something is going to be done about it.

The horrid thing about the issue, is that it didn't just crop up after one of the recent patches, or after the soft-wipe. From what I understand is that the spotting bug has been a part of this game since inception.

I can confirm this, I always was able to spot enemies when they were hiding (I used to play mainly arty)

There are not enough people playing in company battles, it's cause some people think it's cool to stack(Using mainly Tier 10 tanks with a few 9's).

I really wonder how can some shots do some really strange things. I encoutnered these:

1) With one AP shot you can destroy both tracks.

2) You can damage engine on rear when firing on front without damaging or killing anyone else. Eveen in case your back is partially hidden beneath obstacle.

3) With one shot you can hit both track and ammorack at the same time.

The first is plausible, when you are hit from the side in correct evelation. But the other are really strange, and I encountered them (bying a target of them) several times.

Doesn't it have something to do with a shell completely going THROUGH your tank; i.e. completely clearing your tank on the other side and damaging one of the components it went through?

Without killing a driver or damaging ANYTHING else? I am not even sure if it takes HP. When the shell will go through your tank, it will be the last thing that tank will do.

It depends on where the shell goes through and what was in its way on its journey through the tank. This means that a tank's configuration comes into play, with regards to driver and ammo rack location.

One other thing to consider is that this is a game, not a simulation. The game's mechanics aren't 100% accurate, nor are they operating at 100% all of the time.

Than its a bad mechanics. But a good game, only that in recent days the games are full of noobs.

I won't deny the mechanics could use work, but that's not really the reason. The real reason is that WoT is a BETA, so things like a fouled up spotting system, and inconsistent damage done are bound to pop up. Better they happen in a beta than in a game that you actually have to pay money for. Although, in all fairness, it's still rather annoying to have to deal with those things, even if the game is in its fledgling stage.

The influx of "noobs" kind of ruins the game, especially the lower you go in tiers. From tier 5 and below, the fact that the game is now an "open beta" is really apparent, as there seems to be little teamwork. In fact, that word or concept must be a mere suggestion to the new(er) players....

Hmm... in lower tiers there it is normal, but higher you get, the stupider the teams are. Especially players with heavies, which are hiding behind mediums or firing from distance distant, or even hiding in the base.

Pfff... cry for only Sherman. i have IS-7, SU-152, T-54, SU-14, VK3001(H), Hummel, Panther, Jagdpanther, T29, T20, M37, M5 Stuart, all premiums, and all tanks below these, with exception of KV-3 - IS-4, T-34-85 (which I skipped from T-34 to T-43) and S-51... 8|

Everytime I go in with a heavy the enemy put all there sights on me, even when the heavy is out in the open and closer to them. What's so great about me?

True 8|

But I must say that M4A3E8 Sherman, when fully upgraded, is probably the best from its counterparts. Its high rate of fire, mobility and speed can easily outmaneuver Vk3001(H), VK3001(P) and VK3601(H) would have a problems in 1 on 1, as their guns (of all 3 German meds) have large and long-reloading 88mm, and T-34-85... well, I ahvent tested him, since I used free exps to skip him to T-43 (now I have T-54). Really with M4A3E8, the game was really great :D cant wait to have Tiger again...

I've had a blast with my Easy 8, and I wouldn't trade it for any tank in the game. I know it doesn't have the best armour, and the gun itself, while accurate and very quick to reload, doesn't hit quite hard enough, and the penetration is towards the lower end of the scale. That being said, with a stabilizer, and fully upgraded motor and suspension, the Easy 8 can run rings around its heavier counter-parts. Then again, the Easy 8 sort of does need to run rings around its opponents in order to stay alive, whereas tanks like the VK3601 can afford to be tracked for a little while.

M4 Shermans might be "super easy targets", but do not underestimate them, especially when one it toting the 105. T-28's and Pz IV's will disappear in a shot or two, and even heavies shouldn't dismiss the humble Sherman. Though, it should be noted that one needs to be a fairly competent driver (or just really lucky) to pull off soloing a heavy, and tanks like an IS-3 shouldn't be pestered unless the Sherman has support (such as a medium wolfpack).

Soul: You might be targeted because other tankers see you first, or because the Sherman's armour is much easier to penetrate than a heavy tank's. Of course, this is assuming the heavy in question is a T1 or KV. Opponents will usually target the "easier" of two tanks, regardless of what one might be able to retaliate with. The general rule of thumb is to always go for the more imminent threat, so TD's, heavies, mediums, light tanks (I've purposefully discounted artillery because they're normally at the back of the playing field, though they should not be taken lightly).

Sorry, but what is ůEasy 8"? I havent hear about anything like this in game.

You must not say just "M4 Sherman", because there will be totally 4 Shermans. But M4A3E8, i was able to fight with T-44 in very close range and in full speed, while enemy IS-3 was pursuing me. And believe it or not, I won, destroyed T-44 which managed to fire only 2-3 times, missing or dont penetrating, only IS-3 give me some damage, but it was destroyed by our arty 8| I was really laughting that T-44 had no luck in even damaging me.
