Oh well, At least I can work up to the Panther soon (and eventually the Panther II), also I can finally advance beyond the S-51 moon-cannon to the Object 212 galaxy-gun.

Started the Grind towards Object 212 and also started German Arty to try to get the GW Tiger and GW Panther. Still a long grind to the Panther, but I'm quite liking the DB.

lol, I've got so much free xp floating around I don't know what to do with it.

I'm currently working towards the monster bus, the IS-4 and the Panther II at the same time and I will only have enough xp for one of them (and in all honesty, I don't think I'll have enough for the Panther II, since I'm still at the DB).

I really want the monster bus, but I just don't see the point in it, especially since the arty nerf. All it has is more health and that's not worth 180k xp in my mind. I'll probably slowly work up to that using the S-51's xp alone.

IS-4 is always a solid overpowered choice from what I hear, but imo, it's pretty boring, since I've been playing heavies and stuff for a while (and I was gonna get the IS-4 post-wipe anyhow).

Showing mild interest in the GW Tiger and Object 704, but that'll take another lifetime.

Given that I'm not one for artillery, the GW Panther is actually a decent package. And personally, I've warmed to it's looks (though that may be because of the skin I have for it).

I could get the IS-4 if I wanted to now...I could, but I sort of don't want to. I have the money and I have it researched, I just don't want to field it without the S-70, and that's 80k+ exp away. I have enough free exp for the tracks, engine, and half of what's required for the turret. The dilemma now though, is I could just as easily use that exp towards the T29 or even put it towards the Pershing. Then again I could also use it to unlock the SU-152 or the Tiger. Oh the decisions...

T-54 is pretty much amazing right out of the bag. I hear the Panther II (the closest Tier 9 Med for me) is practically unplayable until a gun bigger than 75mm is obtained at which point it becomes rather awesome. I also hear the Pershing is pretty much crap, but at least has a good gun and decent damage.

All I can say is that the bloody T-54 has dueled me with a full health IS3 and won (I have an average ping of 550 over here in China, so it's rather hard to hit things on the move, especially a target that is literally running circles around you).

The T-54 needs a good nerfing, considering that it was only the first model that had 120mm front armour. It was later decreased to 99mm because the front torsion bars were breaking under the load. Also, the RoF is a bit fast. 9 rounds a min is fine, but this stat is just a label. It actually seems to fire closer to 14 or 15 rounds a minute.

Gets a 100mm by default.... Panther II gets a shit 75mm. bleh. I do hate that thing, but practically all of my tanks can't really combat it.

I don't mind the T-54, honestly. I've only ever been shot once by one. Then I punched it through the front with my BL-9 and set him alight. I've seen and been against Panther II's, Obyekt 704's, but I have not yet seen any Pershings or Obyekt 212's. That being said, I've also never been killed by any of the new tanks.

Not surprised about not seeing the 212 since it's actually just a shittier version of the S-51 and really isn't that much better than the school bus. The Pershing's absence is probably due to the fact that the tanks prior to it are ugly as hell and just not as interesting as the other options (though perfectly competent on their own) and due to the general consensus that the Pershing is crap compared to the P2 and the T-54.

I've seen a Pershing, and, it being tier bloody 9, is pretty good at destroying all my vehicles except my IS-3. wasn't as terrifying as the T-54 which single-handedly own my IS-3. I took off 50% before some Tiger II somewhere else took me out.

I've seen the 704, well, I didn't see one but I was one-shotted by one in my IS-3, which is pretty goddamn terrifying and has led me to begin my quest to the 704.

Saw a GW Tiger once, that is an arty that makes sense, since both the GW Panther and GW Tiger are big improvements on each other and not only that, the GW Tiger has the highest damaging cannon in the game, with a max damage of fuck-mothering 2000 damage, making it officially the new moon cannon. Also began a quest towards that.

Bloody hell, when the softwipe comes around, I'm gonna have some tough choices to make. Prolly still stay mostly Soviet, maybe even go full-soviet tech tree and see how that works out (it will probably work out well).

The damage is from a friendly Stug III who didn't appreciate my not sitting still and camping like everybody else, but the jagdtiger shot him and told me to keep going.

I'm on the verge of getting the SU-85 (for the 704), the Hummel (for the GW stuff), and the Panther (for Panther II) very soon.
OR I could just roll with the IS4, but that would be a little boring (considering that it's basically a buffed version of the IS3, though it is arguably the best tank in the game).
OR I could get the 212, which is the most pointless tier 9 in existence.

I guess I could also mix it up a bit with option one, and maybe forgo two options and go straight for the GW Panther or the SU-100, but lets not go into that.

I'm going to be in the same boat you are currently. There are so many tanks that I want, or that I want to at least try. The T-54 looks enticing, but the Pershing, for whatever reason, is calling me. I can't say no to American tanks with big guns (hence the reason I will have a T29).

Obyekt 704 is a hugely frightening beast of a tank destroyer. Based on the IS-3 chassis, it boasts better armour stats than the ISU-152, carries a bit more ammo, and fires its BL-10 a hair quicker. Not to mention it looks better too, even that is a purely subjective observation. The 704 has been known to bounce large calibre rounds, making it even more terrifying. Essentially it's an IS-3 without a turret, but its cannon is far more deadly, and it travels faster as well (43kph vs. 36kph). The "quest" for a 704 is lined with rocky roads and lots of grinding, particularly after the SU-85. The SU-100 is not particularly a pleasant grind, given that its starting cannon can barely damage the tier tanks it will likely see. Add to this that the amount of experience needed to unlock its cannons starts to get ridiculous.

I want a 704 real bad now. Had another instance where I got completely wreaked by that thing in my IS3. Same thing with the GW Tiger. Boom, IS3 gone.

God, I really wish they'd tell us when the softwipe is because I could totally get like another 50k of free xp if it weren't for the fact that I need to save up for the bloody premium...

A. You really don't need premium. After coming back from hiatus, I have yet to purchase a premium account and have made money regardless of match outcome...to the point where I can choose my next route and buy the KT or JP outright.

B. There are talks tha the soft wipe may never come. The reasoning behind the wipe was due to the split between the North American and European servers. A few devs have hinted now that a wipe is not needed anymore.

I need premium cause all my dorm mates play WoT and we platoon like everyday. Plus bonus exp is nice, especially considering I don't have much time to play anyways.

I will be sad if there's no softwipe.

JP vs KT? KT all the way, but if you like TD, JP is one of the best. The JP is like a big ol' Stug.

As far as the Germans go, Jadgpanther is the highest I'll go. However, for the Russians, Obyekt 704 is where I have my sights. Sure there's a BIG difference in how the JP and 704 perform and what they're capable of, but I see it more as a "practical" thing, more than an outright performance thing. The Ferdinand and Jadgtiger and slow and ponderous, and while their gun selection may help to make up some of that, they don't combine all around performance like the Jadgpanther does. On the other side of this coin, there's the 704, which may not turn, accelerate, or aim as fast as the Jadgpanther, but it does bludgeon its target to a pulp with one shot, and it does get along at a good clip for its size (43kph), so compared to the Jadtiger, it makes up for its slight disadvantage in mobility with speed and sheer firepower.

I'm currently stuck at the tier 3s. Currently got a T-34 and using a Matilda to farm free xp. However, I only seem to be getting ~500xp per match at most. Anything I can do to increase this?

I'm pretty new to this game, but id say play with your T-34 or is Matilda higher tier? i get sometimes more than 2 300 exp a match (doupled, cos of somesort of achievement; like STEEL WALL: suffer potential of 1000 points of damage in a match. you heard me... with a T-34) if im really lucky.
so the bigger tier you play, the bigger your exp pool a match is.
Also when my T-34 goes boom in a match, i just quit and go to new game with either my A-20 or BT-7, both are on ELITE status so i can gather little bit of extra exp.

Also, a small question for more expierenced WoT players:
Do you also think this game's balance is way too... well, unbalanced? i've been in a matches with my A-20 with Tiger II's, JS-3's and T-44's. I love WoT for it's fast paced matches and it's arcade/realism mix, but it makes me sad to see my T-34 in rubbles always when there's Tiger's in the field, one or couple i can understand, but sometimes it goes way off the charts.
