To me it appears to be the Raven Shield mechanic in which the bipod is automatically drawn out just because the player went into proned position

IN OTHER WORDS: ITS NOT USABLE ITS ONLY FOR SHOW

I don't see it being deployed on ledges nor that we know it have any effects other than visual, but hopefully it should still do something.

On the bipod thing, there is weapons stabilizing and usable bipod which can deploy on stable platform as well as prone. on Red Orchestra for a long time. Its even better on the upcoming RO2.

*notices how long bipod takes to deploy*

*is deeply concerned about immunity during animation in MP*

Doubtful, in 2142/bf2 ALL lmgs had immense accuracy if you were prone, hell, in BC2 they were one of the few weapons that actually gave more accuracy if you crouched. Looks like more polish to me. So it might just play automatically via proning like you say, but I'm sure there's an accuracy bonus for the LMGs specifically because of it.

I never said there is no bonus...I just said that I doubt its actually deployable (because that would mean being able to deploy it on walls, obstacles, various cover etc...which wouldnt be possible if its "deployable" only in prone, hence the Rainbow Six Raven Shield reference)

Btw Raptor even Call of Duty United Offensive had them

I know, that game is awesome.

Instead of floating "deployed" MG, this one is really deployed. If BF3 have it, its gonna even be more awesome.

On whether the bipod is actually usable or not, there was a fairly noticeable change in recoil and accuracy... though as mentioned above me it could simply be due to being prone.

On the other hand, the blurb for the game does mention being able to 'mount your weapon on almost any part of the terrain', so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Well BF2 had alot of stuff mentioned.

Now compare that Alpha footage with what we have in the final version. They might have said but that doesnt mean its gonna happen the way we want it. (trivia: also the reason of my rage previously in this thread)

I'm willing to bet not much of that will happen here (Feel free to quote me on this when the game blows or flops lol) , they seem to have EA suckling on their nut sacks trying to beat CoD so they probably have more funds and time than they did with BF2.

New trailer.

If EA gets 1 million likes for the video the full 12 minute version of the trailer will get released early.

Its 1 million likes but they still released the 12 minute one early. Nothing new here though just all the parts pretty much together. But there seems to be developer commented version of this locked in battlefield site so yeah.

Yeah something seems VERY off with the lighting, but...heck, I'm okay with it.

If it doesn't strain my eyes/mess up my eyesight.

L2dictionary more

Honestly say I've seen worse trailers. SP looks very much like what I expected based on BC2, but I am waiting to reserve judgement until MP footage is available.

I do, but at certain points it looks...off...I've no idea how to put it. Maybe, unnatural. I've no idea how light works in the Middle East so whatever :read:

Doesn't diminish the fact that it's pretty awesome.

It looks nice and all... but this is like the seventh time they have shown this scenes.

How about A) a completely different level, or B) my personal favourite... *drumroll* ... MP footage!

And they still haven't fixed those missing M4 sights :read:

Also does anyone else think that cliff-jumping scene at the end is very similar to the one in black ops?
