Some of the first-person animations give off this shaky cam feel - it might get annoying.

Oh god, this guy is lagging a lot, I hope he has a somewhat shitty PC for the sake of my wallet!

This is the first video I've seen that shows fluid frame rates:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTAn0APN-pM...t=ULGJsGwDSH7xQ

FRAPS must have been lagging the other recordings.

To summarise, it looks fucking AMAZING. The only thing I dislike is the shadow density and that "high noon sun" effect as if you are viewing the world through the lens of a camera.

Observations:
-The Commando style lunge made it appear as if lag compensation is present. This is good.
-M1014?
-That sound... unbelievable. This is the new standard.

a) It's alpha-version. Not all features are in the game
b) the pond might be just for show and be 20cm deep, you never know

The bipod action looks great, looking forward to using that.

I hope they fix up the sound effects. The autocannon on the LAV doesn't have nearly enough bass to give you that "Oh shit!" feeling when it rumbles over a hill towards you.

Dog tag gets a bit more advanced. You can now choose/customize from "hundreds" of aesthetic looks for your dog tags which is, I would guess, similar to title/emblem customization in MW2. Also note that you have to now knife from the back Spec-Ops-style to get a dog tag; a knife to the face just won't cut it anymore.

It seems like knifing has to be done to the back for a one-hit kill, knifing from the front only does damage now.

From what I saw, you drop a guy in one hit if you knife him in the face/chest/anywhere.

From what I saw, stabbing is an insta-kill move, but backstabbing allows you to steal your opponent's dogtags.

Linked to Origin, you must use origin, you can only have one profile per account and this is also linked to origin. I wasn't massively interested in this anyway, but now? Definitely not getting it. I imagine this EA Games requiring origin thing is going to continue, so I don't think they'll be getting my money for some time.

Mind elaborating why this is such a bad thing?

Quote

As long as the dark foundation of our nature, grim in its all-encompassing egoism, mad in its drive to make that egoism into reality, to devour everything and to define everything by itself, as long as that foundation is visible, as long as this truly original sin exists within us, we have no business here and there is no logical answer to our existence.
Imagine a group of people who are all blind, deaf and slightly demented and suddenly someone in the crowd asks, "What are we to do?"... The only possible answer is, "Look for a cure". Until you are cured, there is nothing you can do.
And since you don't believe you are sick, there can be no cure.

Well, that's pretty much the same as using Steam, really...

Yes, and we've accumulated literally hours of examples of why that is pretty horrible.

I don't mind steam because its a better deal for the developer, valve also promotes indie games like nobody else, plus the sales. Yes Valve is a company but they seem to be the only one that treats consumers as more than just something to milk. EA is doing this to stop valve taking a cut in digital distribution, they are doing it for one reason, to make more money. I also don't like being forced to use more and more download / game clients. People say giving an organisation a monopoly on something is bad, but Valve have managed to show that doesn't have to be the case.

By "We", you certainly mean yourself, cause you're the only one I saw complaining for hours about having connection problems to Steam, actually :xD:
I mean, the network was crap when I first bought CS:Source, 6 years ago, but now there's absolutely no problem with it, and it has way more advantages than any other distribution platform, really...

The only problems that happened on steam's network concerned CoD, so I'd be more inclined to say that it's more IWnet's fault...

Nope, we've had it with L4D for example as well. When they so gracefully do their routine maintenances which down our games. And I can assure you I'm not the only one complaining when steam fails :D .

I had no trouble with it so far. And you can run Origin games without running Origin itself.
