Would you be so kind and provide me with it? :tard:

Check PM.

Damn this origin. I downloaded over 90% and the download rate dropped. So I restarted Origin, only to find it being downloaded from the beginning.

I have an information that might be very useful for ATI users here, there's a preview AMD driver for Battlefield 3 and it's just amazing: I went from 20-30FPS on high settings @1080p to 40FPS at the same resolution with my HD5750.
Anyway, here's the link for those who are interested: http://support.amd.c...viewdriver.aspx

Sarcasm much?
Also, the reason for which it doesn't always work is that they're constantly fixing it (server-side modification)
A good dozen of spots where this happened to me were patched already, thankfully.

Now if only they can fix the "shooting corpse" bug...

Anyway the game is a bit laggy for me..even on the lowest setting. It runs smoothly for some periods and in some critical moments I lag. I have the same pings as I have been getting with BC2. But some times even the animations are out of sync. There is a small stutter specially when I see an enemy and when it becomes smooth I have died. I hope they optimize it a bit more for C2D machines.

Well, ordered new pc and pre-ordered this game aswell, should be fun. Even though I suck at FPS.
Can someone give me a quick little help here, I'm sure that most of my new pc's hardware is great, but is NVIDIA GeForce GT 440 a good card? It says in reviews and such that it supports DirectX 11, so I suppose it's good.

Problem is that I'm not a hardware expert, and when I look up reviews it says stuff like this:

Quote

The retail version of the GT 440 comes with a GF108 GPU clocked at 810MHz and packing 96 shader processors (or CUDA cores).

And my mind goes *PLINK*

EDIT: Forget what I said, it'll run fine with that card if you lower the settings a bit (a lot)
I would never get that card though D:

I'm not so sure whether lowering the settings will do the trick, that card simply isn't made for gaming. It'll run, but whether it'll be playable is another story.

The 1GB might be able to run it since it fulfills the minimum requirements for the game according to what's written on the box, but they certainly meant that it's the minimum requirements to run it on 800*600 :tard:
Oh and @Squig: My card has 720 shader processors, and it's considered as "mid-entry" by now.

Mind posting the rest of your config info? We might be able to tell you to run back to the store to get a refund before it's too late >_>

GT440 is I must say a terrible card for gaming.
I have an HD 5670 and that card is considered a "minimum gaming" card.
I would suggest you to buy from this line HD 6850->HD 6870->GTX 560->GTX 560 TI->GTX 570

Well, after some drama, I've managed to contact the guys who made it. Instead of telling me wether I was able to ge a new pc, he just asked me what Graphics card I wanted in it. So after even more doubt and drama (Cheap or Quality?) I picked this one:

On a suggestion from CJ

Look at the price, it was a sign from the heavens!

Well, according to my (unreliable) sources, the Beta-build is actually months old, and is only there as a stress-test to see if their servers work properly. So most of the bugs (screen-tearing?) have been fixed long ago.

A little bit. It does not hold well with my old C2D. I expect it to run smoothly in the final release. At least I hope. I will have to lower my settings drastically to make it playable on MP. SP would be fine I guess.

The Battlefield 3 beta is both fun, and beautiful. Dice has created a gorgeous composition with, animation, lighting and sound design highlighting what is the most believable war atmospheres I have yet to experience in a game. The quality of this production is high, So high it's more then enough to refresh the generic modern warfare theme that saturates today's FPS market. To ask for anything more would be cynical, and aside from bugs (and there are many :tard: ) I can't find anything to complain about. On release, I'll be more then happy to pay full price, and if you have a current generation machine you should too.

You can find me on Origin, My username is Nemastic.

Hmm funny, my new card (in my new PC) is that GTX 570. Never have I seen a game tax a machine as much as this, but it's beautiful as a result. If anyone wants to find me, I believe my Origin name is FS-AJ, and I'll be burning the midnight oil on BF3 for a good few days/weeks now.
