Cheers. It was lucky that I wasn't around during this as I probably would've been banned from the Honour Guard. He missed soo many decent questions it just made me rage even more than I normally do.
Also, I love the fact the GW are pumping out SM titles atm. I really do. But for the love _anything_ stop putting window-licking-retards in charge of them.

What is it with community guys always picking the obvious questions instead of the interesting ones? Afraid to spoil something?

I'd enjoy some Necrons in my 40K as well, but everyone knows Ward is a massive tool and will shovel the smurfs into anything he can get his grimy little hands into.

Indeed. I don't understand why GW are so afraid to let a game be based on another faction other than Orcs & CSMs, with SM protagonists. However, I doubt it's a question that will get answered or a situation that will ever change.

Because all the SPESS MEHREN fanboys will have a bitch and/or nobody will play the game (Fire Warrior).
As far as I know the popularity of the races based on sales is pretty much this:
Space Marines
Chaos
Orks
IG
Eldar
Tyranids
Tau
Inquisition
Necrons
Dark Eldar

I do see the sense in making the Space Marines the main protagonists. GW play to their strengths, naturally. And they have adapted to the need to include other races in their titles, the RTS ones being prime examples. But I wish that they'd have thought of using the say, the DE in Space Marine and including the Salamanders instead (the two have a very fluffy long standing history). It's a little niche of course, but it's in line with the fluff, something every 40k wants and takes in more than just the 3 main races. Everyone would still buy it.

Salamanders are something of a fan favorite. Mostly because they actually care about the citizens in the Imperium, and not just glory and the death of xenos.
Also because they are black, and nomatter what GW says, we all know they are negroes.

That's not really the reason the Salamanders are a good candidate, but it does help. Salamanders are weapon smiths. Plain and simple. Consider the detail and finely tuned weapons the Salamanders use. Even in their codex, Salamanders are allowed to bring weapon tech in a larger abundance than other chapters. I do have an affinity of sorts for the Sali's, even if most of my attraction to the chapter stems from their colours more than anything else.

Inquistor Drogan & Pal
How much of an actual part they have to play remains to be seen.

This week we would like to introduce two new characters you will be interacting with during the singleplayer campaign of Space Marine. Inquisitor Drogan a relentless member of the shadowy organization & 2nd Lieutenant Mira part of the 203rd Cadian regiment, now leading a beleaguered Imperial Guard force against the Ork invaders on Forge World Graia.
Inquisitor Drogan:

The Inquisitor is a relentless member of the shadowy organization charged with destroying the enemies of the Imperium. He bears the physical and mental scars of a lifetime spent in the darkest corners of the Galaxy. Many years ago, he fell into the hands of fiendish aliens who tortured him for years. Since then, his hatred of alien species has driven him to develop innovative new ways of destroying them.
The Inquisitor has pursued technologies and techniques thought lost or impossible in his battle against the alien. His greatest creation is a unique power source that channels tremendous amounts of a mysterious energy. Since then he has striven to develop a weapon to channel this power and turn it upon Humanity's alien foes.
2nd Lieuetanant Mira:

2nd Lieutenant Mira leads a beleaguered Imperial Guard force against the Ork invaders of the Forge World. Her soldiers are survivors of a much larger detachment that was decimated after the Orks cut them off from orbital support and reinforcements.
Lieutenant Mira was part of the 203rd Cadian regiment that was on route to another war zone. Their troop carrier was suddenly diverted to Forge World Graia as the only Imperial Guard force close to the planet.
Mira's experience and skill as a tactician, coupled with her uncompromising humanity and refusal to give up, commands fierce loyalty among her men. All she wants is to save the soldiers she's sworn to lead, but she sees little hope of withstanding the Orks for much longer.

Hmm, interesting.
The inquisitor has a rather awesome design. And Mira sounds like she could become an interesting character.

I am somewhat confused as to why they've released that information. I strongly suspect they are NPCs and as such will only play an artificial intelligence/cinematic function, which whilst it may be crucial to plot development, won't make much difference to the player.

Inquisitor uses a weapon to channel the warp power, why not make a Librarian instead

Librarians are genetically altered Space Marines.... derp. Inquistors are regular humans, albeit occasionally with pysker powers of some form. There are no Space Marine Inquistors (afaik). They have very different roles.

Will report back later on proper thoughts, but
Squig linked me to the MP customisation last night and I didn't get a chance to post it here (thanks btw).
Customisation is greatly appreciated by us fluff lovers and you can tell that this particular aspect has had the attention of like minded people. I just want to hear that PC players will be able to upload their own badges and/or mod this and I will have a 40kgasm

It's a shame some people who don't read the fluff will play a chapter or legion the way it's doctrine doesn't delineate. Like Thousand Sons prefer to stand back and fight with psykic powers and long range weapons. World Eaters prefer to get in close and melee their way through opponents. I know I'm looking far too into this, but I'm a fluff lover, so pardon my reactions if they seem a bit zealous. As far as picking a chapter goes, Black Templar and World Eaters would be my Assault Marines, Thousand Sons and Salamanders for heavy weapons, and Death Guard and Ultramarines for tactical.

I do appreciate your point mate, but to actually code in the different TT/fluff combat doctrines and Chapter identities would seriously hamper both development time and I am sure be sheer hell to balance. There has to be a line drawn between the universe and the reality of recreating it in a playable game.

Is it just me, or do the space marines look kind of small in this game?

It will ruin the holy image of space marines, they use both bolter and chainsword like their limbs, divide an ork to the half with chainsword when blowing the head of another with bolter rounds, just amazing

It is not unheard of nor anti-canon for a Space Marine to dual-wield btw
