Guess they missed out on the fundamental element that the bigger an Ork gets, the darker in colour he gets as well. So, not only are Orkz being seen as "free health", they're also being portrayed poorly and under false nomenclature.....

While I think that the "Pro" thing is pretty silly, it's just a name, I don't really care.
Notice how the describtion doesn't match the models. Like the Slugga Boy Pro wielding a shoota when his describtion says rokkit launcher, thus we can't really say wether they will be darker or not until we play the game. Although it's rather odd they put the wrong models on the page. Also, Orkz aren't seen as "free health". They're pretty tough when you take into consideration that you play as a space marine, they can take 4 hits from a chainsword and a gazillion bolt shells to the body. The times we see IG shoot at them they hardly seem to notice it at all.
Also, I'm sorry to say this, but you guys are NITPICKING THE SHIT out of this game, 40K is a very complicated and messy universe. Even the best fluffists will miss something. You can't expect them to get every single thing right. And honestly, if fluff is to be sacrificed for gameplay then let it.

Seems that the high street retailers have bullied THQ into not releasing this game on Steam. Although I cannot find anything "official" to clarify this, it seems like a no-brainer to me. To say I am pissed is an understatement. GAME, does not get to decide how I buy my fucking games.

I can buy it for you, danish prices are 49,99 Euro.
Only I have no idea how it works, do I gift it for you and then you somehow transfer the money back or something?

Fuck the lot of them. The market has changed, and for the better, using the digital distribution method the people involved with creating the game get alot more money and that can only be a good thing. Retail is on it's way out and why on earth would anyone change their main digital platform from steam? Because it sounds like that is what GAME are planning on doing. Unless they're forced to use it anyway "oh hai Origin"
More to the point why do these retailers even care? They have been reducing their stock of PC games for years now, in some places I have heard they don't even stock them anymore. Last time I checked my GAME store it basically had COD and lots of older games for £10-£20. Most of the shelf space was taken up by Wii shit and XBOX 360.

I care because I'm one for fluff and being true to what Orkz are. Orkz are seen as "free health", because it was said in one of the reviews for the game. Only reason the Orkz can be tough at times is because of their weight in numbers, but that's how Orkz are. Don't even bother mentioning the Imperial Guard trying to down an Ork with lasgun fire..... They don't call them flashlights for nothing.
And yes, we are NITPICKING this game to Hades and back. There are those of us that have rummaged through the Black Library and subsequent fluff to know fact from fiction, and to be honest, there are a lot of things this game does well, and there is a lot it doesn't. Titles are crap for instance, because tagging an Ork as "pro" is kind of asinine. So a certain Nob is a bit tougher to kill........that's what 'Ardboy Nobz are for. So an Ork has a bigger shooter than another, that's what Lootas and Flash Gitz are for. And if you want a really hard Ork to kill that isn't quite a 'Boss, Mega Armoured Nobz fill that bill quite nicely.
Fluff doesn't have to necessarily be sacrificed for game play to win. In the cases I'm talking about, game play wouldn't be affected much, if at all.

Here we have the glorious choice of buying from either Steam or Retail but the catch is we have to pay the retail price regardless, which as you know by now, is around $90.
To see the level of irony in this, I can go to a retail store and buy the collectors edition in a steel case with a bunch of bonus items for $88, or I can buy it on Steam for $90 with no extras.
The thing is, I'm not going to pay $90 for a game regardless of what's with it. I can wait two more weeks and get a hardcopy (or in a few cases, a Steam key) from the UK for $40.

On a somewhat unrelated 40k note, I just found out that The Imperial Guard DID indeed win the Winter Assault campaign, apparently an armor in Retribution mentions Sturnn leading his men to succesfully secure the titan.

1.) Space Marine will have 4 player online Co-Op and will be FREE to anyone who purchases the game.
2.) Co-Op will be Space Marine vs. Orks & Forces of Chaos.
3.) All 3 Multiplayer classes will be available (Tactical Marine, Devastator or Assault Marine)
4.) Multiplayer Perks can be applied to each of the 3 classes that you have unlocked via Multiplayer progression
5.) Co-Op progression will apply to your multiplayer ranking (Unlocks perks & weapons)
6.) Co-Op will initially launch with 2 scenarios: Assault on Hab Center Andreas & Escape from Kalkys Facility. Each will include multiple arenas.
7.) Co-Op will be score based featuring global leaderboards. There will be score multipliers and dynamic challenges to help teams boost their scores.
Hands on coverage of Co-Op can be found here:
IGN: http://pc.ign.com/ar.../1192027p1.html
GameSpot: http://www.gamespot....1&mode=previews
Stay tuned for a deeper dive into Space Marine Co-Op as we get closer to launch.
So... what are the perks then?
One hopes that co-op can be played without all 4 players.

Edit: additional details
Heatlh is regenerated when not in combat (sync kills leave you open to further damage, applies in MP as well)
All four players draw from the same pool of lives, meaning 1 player can die more than once, but complete squad can only die x number of times.
In game achievable objectives replenish lives at certain structured points
Objectives include T&H and annihilation of the enemy

Aww man, no campaign Co-Op?
Well, this looks pretty fun too. We should play it sometime when the game comes out.

Reading is overrated, The government has already moved on to use tiny nanobots to directly feed the sublimal messages into our heads. Which is why I give myself electrical shock each morning, keeps me free and sane unlike the rest of you brainswashed bastards...
Eeeh...
Anyway, Well have to wait and see. Hopefully Steam will either decide to release it in England anyway, or someone will find a way to circumvent that silly block thing. I mean, I can understand the desire to prevent a monopoly on digital downloading from a business standpoint. But what they're doing is really just an annoyance and it isn't helping. Rather they should try something like Origin, only without the malware that tracks your computer's content and allows EA to seel it to third-parts (meaning they can sell the information that you have 100 pirated games and films).
That thing's been mentioned in here right? I don't remember, saw it on a few websites.

Of course reading still happens here, however what you said was simply stating something possible, doesn't neccessarily mean it will come true. The workaround for the demo was very simple, I don't think unlocking the game itself will be as easy.
