Even if full stops were to be put after images (you so craxy), there at least shouldn't be a space between the image and full stop, you wouldn't do it for any other word, now would you?

"May" not as in it is forbidden. The reason I do it the other way around with ? and ! is because " ! " and " ? " have evolved into separate expressions here on FS. It's worth taking the smiley out of the context of the sentence for by placing it outside the sentence it would otherwise be intrinsically connected to by the full stop .
