A new game by Rockstar, announced ages ago but it has only just got it's first trailer.
The lip sync looks amazing and it is clearly going for the Film Noire investigator vibe and they are pulling it off well. The trailer could easily be a movie trailer as the voice acting is also great.

Looking forward to hearing more about this one, hopefully it will get a port to the PC unlike recent Rockstar games (they be hating on the PC crowd D:).

I REALLY hope it's not a shooter, please not a shooter, something original for once!

Like Heavy Rain.

Lip sync is great, but graphics could be better.

As long as the dark foundation of our nature, grim in its all-encompassing egoism, mad in its drive to make that egoism into reality, to devour everything and to define everything by itself, as long as that foundation is visible, as long as this truly original sin exists within us, we have no business here and there is no logical answer to our existence.
Imagine a group of people who are all blind, deaf and slightly demented and suddenly someone in the crowd asks, "What are we to do?"... The only possible answer is, "Look for a cure". Until you are cured, there is nothing you can do.
And since you don't believe you are sick, there can be no cure.

No, its not a shooter, it's a detective game. Shooting elements yes, but definitely not a shooter (or at least it wasn't when i did some researching into a while back).

Great! Hoped so, combat elements aren't bad, but you get tired the bloody thing taking over games where it doesn't belong!

Anyway, as a Noir fan (why is it spelled Noire in this trailer??) I can say: FUCK YEAH!

An intresting Kotaku post detailing more about the game which also confirms my suspicions. It is indeed a detective game, which sounds awesome :P

This game is really going for an original route for a video game :duh:

It's a shame it's not announced for PC as i won't ever get to play it.

I strongly believe they will release it for the PC as well. As far I can recall, they pulled the same stint with GTA 4 - released it a few months after the 'exclusive' premiere.

As for the game itself, the idea is perfect. What I'm waiting to see is the execution.

Well they said they might be releasing Red Dead Redemption on the PC and no news has come up about that, so i don't hold any hopes for them doing a PC later release, at least not for a couple of years :duh:

Moar trailers, looking good as usual, seems the main baddie will be a serial killer (or at least it hints to that)

I really hope they put in a Noir mode where it's completely black and white with deeper shadows, that would make it epic.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but the extremely realistic faces makes this whole thing plunge into the uncanny valley, it looks like real actors faces on videogame-characters, it just look...malplaced.

Oh,and another thing, according to a few sources I've read, The game actually follows several murder cases, meaning that the creepy-serial killer guy is just one out of many murderers.

i beat the game a while ago, and i love it.

game gets a little repetitive, and the ending could've been better. going onto the second playthrough, full black and white and no hints.

what i hate is that the game doesn't really change if you fuck up a case or not, the conclusion always ends up the same. there's also some fantastic allusions and homages to noir classics, especially the last mission.

you actually should get it for the PS3, since you get a PS3 exclusive case. it's called "the consul's car."
